Like either a BAGD, or the Update?
For word dictionary, something like a Kittle or Theological wordbook of OT?

And just "how" do you use either to study Bible with?

I try to do one or two word studies every month. I do not read Hebrew or Greek. Therefore I use references designed for English-only users. Here are the references I have found to be most useful. Most use the NIV 1984.

    Theology word dictionaries

New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology & Exegesis , 5 Volumes, edited By Willem A. VanGemeren (Zondervan, 1997).

New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, 4 Volume Set, edited by Colin Brown (Zondervan, 1986).

The NT series has been replaced by New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, Abridged One-Volume Edition, edited By: Verlyn D. Verbrugge (Zondervan, 2003).

    Lexicons

A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament, William L. Holladay (Wm. B. Eerdmans, 1971).

A Greek English Lexicon of the New Testament and Early Christian Literature 2nd ed. (BDAG). The 3rd edition, which I do not have, is the current edition.

    Hebrew and Greek Concordances

The Hebrew-English Concordance to the Old Testament (Zondervan, out of print but available on used book market).

The Greek-English Concordance to the New Testament (Zondervan).

Quick - convenient size - cheap

Mounce's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old & New Testament Words, edited By: William D. Mounce (Zondervan, 2006).

I had both OT/NT set of word studies you mentioned, and still have use BAGD

Have read that some are NOT happy with 3rd edition of BAGD as it went to much into gender language and being politically correct!

I had heard that some do not appreciate the revisions in the 3rd edition of BAGD, but was unaware of the reasons. Thanks for sharing that comment.
