If yes, why would you hold to that, what doctrine do you see applying to it?

    JesusFan...

Where do you come up with these questions!

For starters, this is really not a question for nonGreek- and nonHebrew-literate folks. I mean, we've got whatever the current offering is in our native language. For the most part, if that offering is inferior to the Greek/Hebrew texts, well it doesn't matter because we read whatever is available. (Oh, man, I think I just said that.)

Beyond our 90% or more population of Bible readers, most of the people you ask are probably already entrenched with one or more of the current versions among the numerous translation, theological, denominational, scholar, or publisher trenches.

About a year ago, I purged and now burrow (err, read) four versions: KJB, NRSV, NIV 1984, and NLT 2007, plus a few interlinears. Beyond those, whatever someone is quoting, I just don't care because I filter it through one of the versions/interlinears in my personal library. Enough is enough is my motto now.

Maybe I am an oddball (I have been called worse on this forum, as recent as a few hours ago). I am pretty sure I did not answer your question. But that is where I am for the moment.

    ...Bob

Name callings and personal attacks seem to run rampant on this site..

Don't know that God cares any more about the Hebrew or Greek.

Those are THE ones that He choose to inspire and preserve...

NO English version can claim that!

    1. What name callings are personal attacks were in that post?

    2. God wrote the Bible in those languages. He didn't write it in English.

I'm fairly certain God is not up in Heaven worrying about which version someone chooses. Especially one of His children.

The NWT? Well, maybe that one.

But He's not worrying about what's on the spine for His children. I would suggest that perhaps He's not to keen on "The Message" but that's just my opinion. Having heard some of its pages read myself, well, uh, this  <----- will suffice as an answer.

Some may suggest perhaps we will be punished and lose rewards if our Bible didn't say "KJV" on the spine. Maybe we'll have to turn over our Bibles when we get there?

"Look, another ESV user!!!!!...UH OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
