The Reformation Study Bible RC Sproul?

    I was going to put this in the thread with the Ryrie and Macarthur ESV study bible but thought I would start a new one.

    What are your thoughts on RC Sproul and his ESV Reformation Study Bible?

    I have that one also. Don't like it as much as I like the ESV or the Mac. Just my personal preference.

    I have both the earlier edition (called Geneva Study Bible) and it is NKJV. Not as good as the newer renamed Reformation Study Bible in ESV. Think the ESV is far better.

    Notes are often pages by great church leaders of the past and they are top drawer theology. Actual page-by-page short notes are for the most part unchanged.

    In a few places where the ESV English text is more closely reflecting the Word of God, the notes are shorter since the author does not have to explain word meanings that might still be unclear in the NKJV

    I like it, but big and cumbersome to use anywhere other than my study

    wasn't the Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible by Zondervan supposely superior to this bible though?

    I had one of these Rc Sproul Study Bibles, was good in regards to the notes pertaining to Sotierology, as distinctly reformed and Calvinistic, but disagreed on areas like Infant baptism. eschatology etc so much had to give it away to go back to good ole Ryrie!
