What are you all preaching or if you're not a preacher, what is your pastor preaching this summer?

I am in the midst of 3 book studies: 1 and 2 Samuel on Sunday AM; Mark on Sunday night; Psalms on Wednesday nights.

My husband is preaching a series right now called "Out of Control". I think it's been particularly applicable to us personally during these last months. This Sunday, he'll finally be telling the whole story of what happened with Lauren and the lessons he learned. I'm bringing the big box of tissues.

I have been preaching all year on the theme "The Time Has Come..." and it has had a variety topics behind it. Today I started preaching on Romans 6 and how we are "freed from sin", it will be at least 4 or 5 weeks long.

We've been walking through the Book of Acts all summer. We find that in the midst of the summer lull that we can be more exegetical in our approach to sermons. We tend to push topical from August to October and January to March. It's a balance.

Since we only have preaching on Sunday morning, and don't do much programming outside of that time, it works out well. :)

Lectionary in AM - mostly the Gospels, last week was a particularly good text, Matthew 13:24-31 "What to do with all the Weeds". Gave a great opportunity to address the question of how we are to respond to the evil and injustice we encounter

Romans in PM - chapter 13 this week

Wednesday - starting series in August on the End Times

Still in Ephesians, have been for over a year and a half now. Plan to wrap that up by September and begin a series on leadership based on the lives of Abraham, Noah, Joshua, and David.

I don't think I will ever preach a series on Baptist Distinctives. I would rather resign first.

Then don't preach the series. This is about what people are preaching. What are you preaching?

My pastor is working his way through Matthew in the Am and Genesis in the PM. Sadly I don't have a clue about Wednesday night as my job doesn't let me be there.
