No, it's bad when they both do it and its bad when they both over spend. Have you not heard the anger toward the Republicans for over spending in the Bush era? That is the message of the Tea-Party and many of those who are now in office. STOP OVER SPENDING!!! Rep and Dems need to stop spending more than we take in, period!!! Live within your means!!!

Balance the freakin budget and do so without taxing the people more than you already are because we are all already paying enough in taxes as it is, and the Gov is spending money wastefully and they need to be held accountable.

I honestly don't care if they have an R or D after their names. If they are for big government and more taxes then they are bad for this country, period!!!

And Obama voted against raising the debt limit then.

    So what is your point?

Other then you don't have all the facts?

    What facts? How Obama voted?

That doesn't change the hypocrisy of the republicans. When it was a republican president it was alright to raise the debt ceiling; now that it is a democrat in the White House, it is a different story.

Clearly you do not get it. If Bush were in office right now the issue would be the same thing. The issue is not just about rasing the bedt ceiling. But it is ab out the current amount of debt that far exceeds any other President.

Again the issue is the unsustainable amount of debt we are currently at.

I will say it again, the issue is about the amount of unsustainable and unprecedented debt we are currently at.

Nah, they aren't hypocrites at all. They are very clear in their agenda that they represent the corporations and the ultra-wealthy. And therein lies the sheer brilliance of the right wing machine: they have the middle class and the upper middle class convinced they are part of the status quo. Though God has rewarded me over the years, and I probably do better than many on this board, I am not rich enough to be a Republican - and I used to be one (a very active one).

This will be interesting to watch though. The GOP has to be very careful, as they risk serious damage to the swing voters, especially those who potentially may not receive a Social Security check if there is no deal. That would also include those who watch their dollars shrink as the US defaults on its debt. If the GOP ends up taking the blame, it could set them back years.

    Hope all is well,
    BiR

In that Obama switched his position as you say Republicans have is he also guilty of hypocrisy?
