Jane Fonda: 'I Have Never Done Anything to Hurt My Country'

    Saturday, July 16, 2011
    By Terence P. Jeffrey

Actress Jane Fonda said in a statement posted on her website today that the QVC television channel cancelled an appearance they had scheduled with her today to promote her new book "Prime Time," blaming the cancellation on what she called "well funded and organized political extremist groups."

In the same statement Fonda said, "I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us."

If she had her way we would all be living in a godless communist state instead of the greatest free republic in the history of the world. But of course that wouldn't hurt us, would it?

On the other hand, she was right about Vietnam being a phony war and we had no business being here. The domino theory was scam.

My brother will retire from 30 years in the Navy next month. He knows about my disapproval of the wars he fought, but the last thing I will do to him is let him see a picture of me at an anti-war rally. Jane Fonda could have stated he opposition to the war without sitting on that anti-aircraft battery. She was seen with what the American forces were told were the enemy. Do not tell me that didn't hurt morale. She is and always has been a spoiled, ill-informed, syncophantic brat. A lot of cry-baby boomers are.

JANE FONDA BECOMES A BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN
    Robert Stacy McCain
    THE WASHINGTON TIMES
    January 14, 2000
    -----------------------------------------------------------

Jane Fonda has become a born-again Christian, enthusiastic in her newly found faith, and her conversion is making waves from Atlanta to Hollywood.
She's regularly attending church services and Bible studies in Atlanta, and one friend calls her faith "very real, very deep."
One of her longtime critics calls it a conversion "right up there with Saul of Tarsus." The story leaped from Internet gossip to mainstream newspapers following the disclosure last week that she and her husband, Ted Turner, have separated.

In her memoir, “My Life So Far,” and on many interview shows, Miss Fonda repeatedly apologized for going to North Vietnam in 1972 where she sat on an anti-aircraft gun and said things critical of her country that encouraged the enemy to fight on.

There are Somethings, People Just Don't Forget!

Jane can claim being reborn, and for the sake of her eternity, I pray she is truly reborn.

However, to many Americans, she'll always be Hanoi Jane, sitting in the seat of a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun.

Jane needs to remember what Rev. Jerimiah Wright once said about the chickens coming home to roost! Many Americans will never forget her actions in Viet Nam.

While it is true that the war may have been for ALL the wrong reasons, Americans were still being tortured in prison camps, dying at the hands of this enemy, and surviving severe wounds that would haunt them for life. During this time of warfare, she gave an American face to the enemy to rub our nose in.

While I say welcome to the family Jane, I also want her to remember that once a traitor, always a traitor in the minds of many!

At least in Heaven you will not be remembered for your childish actions. That is something to look forward to. Until that day, however, you will have to live with the reality you cemented into the memories of many Americans.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

I've done some research on this in the past and I get the impression that she was more of a dumb bimbo than an intentional traitor.

Well, That Explains the Entire Thing

Thanks for the explanation. I can now sleep better at night knowing she was a victim of her own "bimboness!"

Nothing has changed and she's still in full denial.

She should have been tried and executed decades ago.

While I agree that what she did was reprehensible, what would she stand trial for?

Wow, I did not know the death sentence applied for jaywalking. Thanks for the information.

Now, into the killfile you go.

I was on my 1st combat tour in Viet Nam when she was in North Viet Nam. I heard her statements on hanoi hanna. We saw the pictures of her sitting at an AA emplacement. I read her refusal to even notice what POW's were trying to show her when she met with them. I won't watch any movie she ever made. If she's on a tv program, i won't watch it.

Alot of people did stupid things back then, maybe even traitorous things. But that was 40 years ago. I am over her. She's a has been. Her only claim to fame is a few films and being related to Henry and Peter Fonda. I'd hate for someone to keep dredging up what I did 40 years ago.

The difference is, from what I see you post, that you would probably denounce your actions, and have empathy for the people you harmed. Instead, J.F. denies her actions even affected anyone.

    The British did it right:

William Joyce (AKA Lord Haw Haw) was an Irish-American who became a fascist and went to Germany from where he broadcast to England on Hitler’s behalf during World War Two

Born in New York in 1906 of an Irish father and English mother, William Joyce was taken to Ireland by his parents when he was still a child. The family later moved to England.

He was captured by British soldiers who, according to The Mail on Sunday “recognized his voice and shot him four times in the buttocks.”

Joyce was taken to England, tried for treason, and sentenced to death.

    He was hanged.

Are you talking to me? I would denounce the wrong that I did. But, I want to make clear that fighting in Viet Nam was NOT one of them. I am proud of my service there. I am glad I spent my youth there.

For me, it is all about not caring about her. I don't care that she doesn''t see what she did as harmful or even wrong. I understand why it is an issue with some, but it's not for me.

I never judged your service, you misread my post.

    Sigh.

You said..."I'd hate for someone to keep dredging up what I did 40 years ago. "

I said...."The difference is, from what I see you post, that you would probably denounce your actions, and have empathy for the people you harmed."

I don't know how you missed it. I think yer one of the good guys here, so just holster it, eh ?

I really didn't think you were attacking my service. I just wanted to make clear that i didn't think it was something I needed to apologize for. Alot of VN vets have spent their entire lifetime either apologizing or ignoring or hiding their service. So maybe I was too sharp. But just in case you thot I was, I wanted to be clear.

I appreciate you trying to make it clear.
