I recently made a huge error when I posted an article about the addition of Arabic to the languages available to those calling the Michigan Department of Human Services.

I posted the article to solicit comments, and boy, did I receive comments.

However, in my preparation of the article I used the word Islam to describe the language, when I should have used the term Arabic, which is the official language of those who are of the Islamic faith.

Some pointed this error out to me in humility and gentleness.

Others were downright uncivilized and Un-Christ like when they referred to my mistake as being ignorant.

The last time I looked, this was still a Christian forum. You may not agree with me, or my opinions, but, if it's not a rule of this forum, it sure should be that members need to treat one another in a Christian way.

Name calling is not Christ like, and I can clearly say that this kind of treatment by the "old-guard" of the BB is totally offensive and inappropriate.

While I am willing to forgive those who referred to my mistake as "Ignorant" because that is what Christ would expect; I can only hope that those who choose to lower their standards to one of name calling, remember that sin is sin, and it requires repentance and the need not to fall into that pit again.

This board has to be able to treat one another with respect, or it will not survive the court of public opinion. It has been said that, "The church is well known for killing and burying their wounded!"

The way I was treated would be supportive of that saying. Sad to say, it happens way to often on this board, especially when those who have time and experience on the board don't really like the person who is posting.

There are those on this board that I don't necessarily like, or agree with, and I have found it much easier to no longer buy into their posts and comments. It is so much easier than allowing myself to get into a cyber shouting match with that person.

If someone rubs you the wrong way, and you can't approach their post in a Christ like way, may I suggest that you take a pass on the comment's section. It will spare you falling into the sin's snare. Believe me, I have fallen into that pit many times, and had to apologise.

In His Love, I humbly submit this post, and ask that if there are those whom I've offended in the past, please know that I am truly sorry.

I also ask that you forgive me for my "ignorance" at times. I have been known for my exuberance, and at times it causes me to make errors that seem to qualify me for the idiot-of-the-month award. Believe me when I say this. That is not my intention. I write from my heart, and appreciate the feedback of my brethren because at times, their feedback helps me to right my ship and change the course and direction I'm headed, and in how I think and feel.

I value all of your opinions. I just don't value your name calling!! Enough said?

My Mama once said, "If you can't find something nice or constructive to say or add, keep your mouth shut!" The older I grow, the wiser my Mama seems to be! :wavey:

If you point out the name calling in that thread I will deal with it as an administrator. There is no excuse for name calling and it will be dealt with. Your first choice should be to use the 'report post' button when this occurs.

Agreed. But, the Harm Was Already Done...

Even if I reported this to the mods, the seeds of doubt and my "ignorance" were planted. I felt it was necessary to point out the wrong.

I never meant to "Sentsationalize" the title with the word Islam. You are welcome to change the title line to corespond with this mistake and the correct term being "Arabic." I would sincerely appreciate your taking the time to do this. It would help to make the post make sense, and not focus on something I never meant to make the focal point.

As I said, I just wanted to point out my disgust with the fact that this is an English speaking nation, and how we continue to appease/passify/placate others instead of forcing them to learn our English.

Will do. It will probably be late morning US time before I can do it because I am only on my phone and that procedure is too difficult on my phone.

Brother Paul, God bless you. You know, we have to weigh whether things, persons, antagonizers are worthy of our time, and that is something we give to them, so count the cost, and then don't give it to them. Sometimes they are not worthy of a response, and we must bow out, and in doing so count it as gain, not a loss. People will call you liar, ask for proof, only to take the proof offered, and do the same to it they have done to you all along. To some you will apologize, only to not be forgiven and receive harsh words again, or an unchristian spirit with a similar tone.

Here is where Christ wants us, and may it bless you:

For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. 1 Peter 2:20-25

    - Peace

    rd2, great post.

On occasion I frequent a forum board that is worldly to say the least. On this forum I've always taken a moral position, shared the plan of salvation and have been called everything under the sun but a human being. What's funny to me is providing Scripture to overcome their position(s) for which they simply cannot get away from. The Word is like a two edged sword for sure.

Yes, one would think that on a Forum such as this one folks would be a bit more civil..., then, some just have a hard time expressing what they are really trying to say. Of this, I'm guilty.
