In another thread, a poster ended a description of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbyterian Church in America by saying:

Which Baptist conventions/associations/groups do you consider to be "big league"?

Any denomination/convention/association that preaches the Gospel and lifts up the name of Jesus is in the big leagues.

I noticed that when it was said and started to say something myself. Like the others so far have said, that is nonsense. It's nonsense in two ways: 1. It presumes that God is not working in small things, and 2. Some of the most consequencial conservative theologians amongst presbyterians are members of so-called micro-denominations. Brian Schwertley is one that comes to mind. Another is Joseph Pipa. Another is Joel Beeke.

Great answer to what would have become a divisive question.

To Tom's answer, I would add, "or any local independent church."

    Nicely put.
