"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'to' is too.

I’m a firm believer in comparing versions to get a handle on the full range of possible meanings of the English text.

I use several and use my rudimentary Greek and Hebrew skills in an attempt to understanding why the versions disagree when they do.

I generally study in the English Standard Version with the New American Standard (95 update) as a back up
Other “go-to” versions usually include the New Living Translation, New International Version, to supplement the original language texts.

When I study for teaching I might include the New King James Version and older NIV (84) because others might be studying from them.

I’m not surprised to find that my own favorite version fails a multi-version comparison as often as any other.

While studying Matthew 5:26 earlier in the week I came across a difference I never noticed before that significantly changed my views on the Sermon on the Mount.

Do you see a difference?
I like the NKJV the best, it surprised me!

Does the difference make a difference to you too?


Also notice the title differences too!
The NKJV labels the section, "Adultery" as many other do.

IMO, the ESV correctly titles the paragraph, "Lust" :thumbsup:
