What a blessing!! All of my children have been baptized around 8 or 9 years old and my youngest followed suit! She was ready and when she found out we were doing it at the beach, she was thrilled. Here's a pic of my husband and our junior high youth pastor right after Joanna was baptized. :) Oh - this was done in the ocean!

That's so precious that your hubby got to baptize her! I especially love that it was done in the ocean. Very nice!

I nearly got the wrong idea from your thread title .

May God bless your youngest daughter in her Christian life.

Me too....but then many of annsni's thread titles have a way of getting our attention.

I'm praising the Lord for instilling in Joanna's heart that desire to proclaim publicly her faith in Jesus and her willingness to follow Him in obedience in baptism!

May God bless her and give her parents wisdom to be able to continue raising her in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

this is always a precious time for everyone, I hope the Lord will continue to be a guide to your daughter and that she will be wholly dependant on Him!

Sweet! Tell her she's bee-yoo-tiful. (and lucky to be in the ocean!)

I'm glad you posted who was there. I first saw the picture and thought "it really took two grown men to dunk that tiny little girl?!"

The BEST baptism was one year when our 6'8" youth pastor (not that one in the pic - another one) was baptizing all of the junior high and younger kids and then our 5'6" 120 lb. soaking wet children's pastor baptized a man who was easily 350 lbs. Poor Pete (the tall one) had to practically bend in half to baptize the kids and then Lee (the skinny small one) just about had a stroke trying to lift the man out of the water. "Buried in the likeness of His death [the dunking] and rrrraaaaaiiiissssssseeeeedddd [the lifting - said with a deep grunt] in the likeness of His resurrection." LOL Now they plan a little better.

But you'd be surprised about baptizing at the beach. The ocean can have some VERY strong waves and I have a picture from just before this where Joanna actually was tossed about 2 feet forward from a wave. She's just 50 lbs. so they needed the two to make sure she was safe! LOL - Actually, we always use 2 to baptize at the beach. One is kind of a "spotter" for waves.

Here are the two pics of her before she went under:

This is the one where she had just gotten tossed

Cool pics, I like seeing the before and after. It seems like there's just this neat glow about people right after they come back up, especially children.
