I don't like it, when I come across blogs and/or websites that teach good Bible doctrine, BUT they don't use the King James Bible. I have tried to tell a few people about this on their websites, but usually they just ignore me. What do you think I should do?

The fact that they can teach good bible doctrine without using the King James should tell you something. Bible versions are a personal choice. I know of no doctrine damaged by the versions I use other than the KJV, which are: NASV, ESV, HCSB, NET, NKJV, Geneva 1599.

use the KJV. Don't force others to use the KJV. You even said they "teach good Bible doctrine" so why even make it an essential matter.

Also, why did you make your font so small?;)

There are several distinct factions in this forum....I am KJVO by choice, but many here will just scoff at what you asked, so be prepared.

Then ignore them right back. It is their website and they choose what goes on and what does it. If they do not like your suggestion, that is their decision.

I don't want to come across as a total jerk when I ask this but: why are you asking us "what do you think I should do"? I mean, are you under conviction when you read their websites? Are you a KJVO type who wants to change the owners of that website? I'm curious.

    just curious...

Are you really KJVO, or really preferred?

Only entails that all modern versions are corrupted/bad, KJV only good version to use for today

Kjv prefered would say that modern veresion'adequate" but much desired compared to the KJV!

DCorbett why do you continue to make an issue where there isn't one? I can understand it coming from Fredswife but you seem to be much smarter than to make such an inflammatory observation. No one here is against your choice to use the KJV. The vast majority would go to war to protect that choice to include myself. The contention rises when someone wants to force that choice on everyone else such as the person who stated this thread. He's evidently been brainwashed into the KJVO cult and just can't understand how another Bible version could possibly be used by competent folks claiming to be Christians.

Okay sag38, what DCorbett said was in no way inflammatory and your insinuation that because I am in agreement with her statement I am being inflammatory, in your opinion? Sag38, you don't even know me, so please cease from pre-judging me. BTW, are you also insinuating that I am not very smart?

IMO, I believe your remark about me "I can understand it coming from Fredswife but you seem to be much smarter than to make such an inflammatory observation." to be inflammatory.

Search this forum for the debates about KJV vs. modern versions. Get an wider education into Bible translations.

If you are getting edified by reading these web sites that teach proper doctrine but don't use the KJV, what's the problem?

The answer is simple. If you don't like using sites that use other versions don't use those sites and let them be.

Roger, you state the obvious. Still I can't help but smell an agenda (more like a rat) behind the intent of this thread.

just curious to how many posting here on BB are KJVO, or "just" KJV preferred?

    To me a BIG difference!

I think kraftyhorselover is a young teen. Cut her a little slack maybe?

If she has passion for the KJV then that's a good thing. I hope my 19 month old has passion like that for good things when she's a teen.

I don't think we need to question motivation. Those who use the KJV only and don't like other translations should only use KJV sites.

I do love the KJV and like the Byzantine text body, but I primarily use the NKJV

If need be, I would use a Catholic Bible to witness to a Roman Catholic!

I am KJV preferred, but have used the NASB and the NKJV when I want a diferent view of a particular piece of Scripture.

My Wife uses the NIV and my Daughter goes between the NKJV and the NIV, and from time to time they will come to me and compare what our different versions say about some Scripture. Nobody gets mad or thinks their version is the best, we just use what each of us feels is the best for us individually.
