Curtis, the current mainstream media template is that Democrats are smart - remember when they tried to tell us that Hillary Clinton is the smartest woman in the world? - and that Republicans are stupid.

It has nothing to do with reality though - just shilling for liberal Democrats.

Pretty good article. I wonder why it didn't list some of the really stupid things Obama has done, like:

    1. Having a Dem majority in both houses but not repealing the Bush tax cuts. Instead he waited until after the 2010 mid-term elections, where he lost his Dem majority in the House, making it impossible to repeal them, effectively rendering his campaign promise impotent. (note: I am against repealing the Bush tax cuts)

    2. Championing a health care bill instead of focusing on jobs. Now, finally, after 2 1/2 years in office he's attempting something.

    3. Announcing to the world that he'd like to see Israel's borders go back to the pre-1967 lines, then getting publicly rebuked by Netanyahu in the White House. On TV.

Only Targus would complain that the credibility of an author is not important when evaluating a political text.

The answers to these end up further supporting the article.

    1. Repealing tax cuts before any election is bad for perceptin, and I'm sure Pelosi and other dems counseled him that they needed as little bad perception as possible. However, they sorely underestimated the mood of the public.

    2. Health care seemed like an "easy win" and they needed to show "change we could believe in." Again they underestimated the public, believing none of us would think twice about providing care for poor, underprivileged children; they never considered that some of us might be upset if such care resulted in more taxes, higher property rates, etc. in order to pay for that free care; and thus, perpetuate and even creare more poor, underprivileged children.

    3. Can't help you there. I cannot fathom why he and/or his advisors think this is a good idea.

In one sentence, Obama squandered his political capital. That was a dumb thing to do. He's not as smart as he thinks he is.

The author is merely stating an OPINION.

In area does the author need to prove his credentials in order for you to decide if his opinion concerning common knowledge events is valid?

But, knowing and evaluating the author might give some insight as to why they hold to their opinion.

    What do his motives matter?

Either his opinion is valid or it is not.

I can't help but notice that you have nothing to say concerning the validity of his opinion.

The author could be anonymous, or Forrest Gump, for all I care. When you're right, you're right.

This author hit the nail squarely on the head enough to drive it all the way in.

The lefties here just want to hide from the facts behind another meaningless smokescreen. They can't defeat the author's conclusions, so they attack the author.

    Typical.

Doesn't it say somewhere in the article that he may be brilliant, but makes some stupid moves?

How would one know that he is brilliant if his choices are less than stellar?

Agreed; but that still doesn't make a difference about the validity of the statements. Evaluate the statements; if they're based on faulty premises, identify those premises, and then counter the statements.

In other words, you can't discount the statements simply because you dislike or disagree with the author. I've worked for many people I disliked or disagreed with; but had to admit that, once in a while, they were right.

That the author wrote this piece. Sorry you cannot dreail this thread. Obama makes Bush look like, well, a guy who went to both Harvard & Yale.

We're told that Obama went to college too... but we can't be sure because for some unknown reason his records are a big secret.

Yup. I wonder why he works so hard to hide stuff.

I can't help but speculate that there must be a lot of people in America who feel kind of stupid for falling for this guy's "We need change", "Yes we can", and "we are the ones we have been waiting for"....It turns out the zero is just as empty & vapid and his campaign speeches.

So we must be hateful tea partiers, or something.

Well, I thought it was kind of stupid to expect something different from another puppet of the banks and corporations from the start. I reckon it takes some folks longer to catch on and some never do.

I got an idea let's all get together and "elect" another banker puppet as POTUS that should cure all our ills. How about Cain? I mean we have a government of by and for the central bankers and corporations so why not actually have a central banker like Cain leading the charge to finish off looting the wealth of our nation? Let's really put the fox in charge of the hen house! That ought to make things a whole lot better in this country.

Change is all we'll be left with . . . pocket change that is. Don't be surprised when they come after that too!
