Those who are saved, but who try to hold and get passed in to the Church a "liberal" social agenda, such as having Christians endorse gay marriage and turn pro choice on abortion etc?

can one be a liberal Christian and hold office/teaching positions within the baptist Church ?

I'm puzzled. OK, so not one of us is perfect this side of glory, so we all do, think and say things which are contrary to God's perfect ways of holiness.

Even so, the idea of someone truly saved by the Lord Jesus Christ endorsing things like gay marriage seems unusual (unless of course the person has only just been saved, or has been poorly taught).

As for such people trying "try to hold and get passed in to the Church a "liberal" social agenda", how would they successfully do that, assuming that the church concerned had a sound and bible-based statement of faith?

Regarding your question about liberals holding office, the answer would depend on the individual church concerned, because there is no such thing as the baptist church. Individual baptist churches can differ greatly from each other - I can think of some baptist churches who (tragically) would welcome the sort of liberal you mention with open arms, an would gladly have such as office bearers!

Think that those who "lean left" have to realise that we conservatives/traditional folks DO have same feeling they have about poor and needy, just that we think best way to help them is to follow the ways God outlined in the Bible to handle that!

    Initial questions:

What Are Your concerns On the "Christian Left?"

Those on the left who call anyone more right than them as fundamentalist extremest. Now, I will admit that Westboro Baptist Church is a bit controversial and might be labeled extremest. But please do not put me in the same camp as folks such as them.

I think what it amounts to is the Libs will call us right wing, extremest , ect - but they will not use similar terms for themselves.
