When he was asked by the press IF he considered Mormons were a Cult, just kept saying "no comment"

Is that acceptable, or should we actually say that they are per our perspective?

I don't know if he lied or if he realy believes it is not a cult. I will give him the benifit of the doubt without further evidence.

The answer is the same. If he believes they are a cult then he lied. If he does not believe that then he did not lie. Being evangelic does not necessarily mean you believe that Mormonism is a cult. He may not know what they teach.

    Good point!

Wierd. we might have a case where a true Christian is either intionally lying on this, or does not know it, so doesn't it bring into question IF christians should vote for a christian regardless of their stated beliefs/views?

Do 'gotcha' questions always deserve an answer?

Didn't see this as being "gotcha", just seeing if others thought it 'odd" a believer would address an answer this way concerning a Cult?

Just curious IF we say that it would be ok for an avowed Christian to say things that he knows is not truthful, in order to be "politically expediate?"

To the 'gotcha' question he should've just stuck with the 'nunya' response.

It was intended as a snare anyway.
