A good case for practicing separation?

I prefer the Way of the Master method but I am not a WOTM only. I have chosen to separate from some churches and ecumenical influences in my area that are big on Way of the Master and have their own evangelism events, because of the charismatic and other questionable influence in their midst. Once I went with them on a trip and some were passing out questionable rap music and calling it evangelism. They were using the worlds music and trying to evangelize with it, a bad idea…

I used to attend a Way of the Master preferred SBC church, but left because of doctrinal issues, and their weak stance on separation. I attend a Fundamentalist Baptist church these days. Some like Way of the Master there, but they have no fellowship with any Way of the master event or gathering due to their loose stance on separation and embracement of the Charismatic movement. Am I in error? I like to do evangelism, but I dont feel right about having open fellowship with some of these charismatic churches. I mean I can be their friend, but to do ministry together. I dont think so…

Ideas from fellow IFB are welcome, thanks..

    John

    Just a question for you...

Do you see ALL pentacostalists/charasmatics in "same camp?"

Would you view say those attending/following kenneth copeland/benny Hinn same as those in Assemblies of God, oriF one used say Dr Grudem for theology be same as one using kenneth Hagin, or attens "Jesus Only" Church?

You are correct to separate from the charismatics brother. We should separate from all heresy when we come across it. Calvinism is a fine example that we should separate from.

    The "worlds" music.

I saw Dino using the "worlds" piano once in praise to God. How dare him.

I've also heard Phil Driscoll using the "worlds" trumpet for the same objective. What a shame.

How dare anyone use the "worlds" instruments.

I must be dumb as a rock, because I missed it, too.

Now that I know that it's sarcasm, I'm chuckling. Pretty funny.

I am IFB....I absolutely believe in seperation from charismatics - why?
    Because it is not biblical.

If it's not Bible, stay away from it. Don't compromise.

You had a lot of replies from those who bend....don't bend.

Some people are infatuated with the charismatics. I've heard people say "Oh, I envy them and wish we were like them." Obviously, persons either don't know their doctrine to be false, or just don't care. Their doctrine is false and they and it are to be avoided.

You would "love" us brother, as we have some who hold to a Dr grudem view on gifts, others see them as ceased, while some Arms/Most cals etc!

think have to remember not ALL charasmatics hold to same theology though...

I believ that God can still do some things today apart from the Bible only, but ALWAYS in agreement with it, and NOT in addition to it!
All in my Baptist church holding about Gifts today see it in same light!

TOTALLy disagreeing with faith healers, word of faith/name it claim it etc!

think that dr gorden fee/Dr wayne Grudem and those of same ilk are 'fine", as they have much better viewpoint on how Spiritual Gifts operate in relationship to the Bible!
