An oft-hurled allegation by the left against the Tea Party is that they are a bunch of racists. So how would liberals explain this, hmmm??

Cain's base of strength continues to be with Tea Party voters, where he gets 33% to 31% for Gingrich, and only 11% for Romney.

If Tea Party members are racists, why to they favor an African American for president?

I think it has to do with true conservatism. Romney and Gingrich have both wavered over the years. Gingrich was the first to come up with the individual mandate, and Romney signed it into law in Mass.

The Tea Party wants a true conservative, AND one they can trust to repeal obamacare. I don't think they care what color he is.

So, no, they are not racist. They were only labeled that because Obama is half black and the Tea Party opposed him, so it had to be because he was black.

Obama is opposed by the conservatives because of his politics, not his race.

In contemporary society the accusation of "racism" is often a label used in attempt to exclude and malign people or organizations and usually has no basis or truth.

I know lots of people who are self-identified tea party followers and none of them are racist. The link in the OP is another demonstration of that.
