    Bauchmann has refused too. I think Romney has also declined to show up. So, this looks like the only people who think this is a legitimate moderator are some on this board and Newt.

    What is surprising is that the tea party is promoting the idea that everyone should show up.

    Yeah, the tea party is not even influencing this year's election. There is not a tea party person advancing in the polls right now. Some are settling for a very inside the beltway person who disagrees with them on major issues just to avoid voting for Romney. I think this is the election where the tea party fizzled.

    Candidates are smart to decline Trump. I am not sure of his motives. He routinely floats the idea of a 3rd party run. He may be a stalking horse for Obama.
