The House is debating extending the FICA tax cut into 2012. As part of that debate GOP lawmakers are adding amendments to the bill. If you are a Ron Paul supporter please indicate whether you favor these provisions or oppose them. A simple Yes or No would suffice and please include a brief sentence or two as to your reasoning.

    1. Limit where welfare recipients could spend their benefits by preventing ATMs at strip clubs and other establishments from reading the electronic cards through which most people on welfare receive their monthly payments.

    2. Require people receiving unemployment benefits to try getting a high school diploma or an equivalent and join programs aimed at helping them get new jobs.

    3. Bar millionaires from collecting food stamps and unemployment benefits.

    How do you define "millionaire?"

The present cash value of my pension is around a million bucks. Should I be barred from collecting unemployment benefits on that basis?

If you can access it, DANG RIGHT. It is sickening to think that people scraping by, working their tails off, would be funding you, while you have a million dollars in the bank! The mere idea is grotesque!

I am not really up on this debate, so forgive me. But I am against any government intrusion, or requirement, that does not save us money or cut taxes. I don't want millionaires collecting money that WE fund. Not for #1, because if we do that, establish the principle of government control in that area, it could be used against us later (i.e., preventing people from withdrawing government money at Church ATM's, etc.)

#2 As well, bothers me. If we require these people to take these programs, could they later be ALSO required to take "Gender identity sensitivity training" or some other such nonsense, once we allowed this government intrusion? We have all seen these types of things played out before.

The answer is to cut the benefits, not establish more government control. Course, I don't know Ron Paul's position, but I could see him going either way.

I am all for the reduction in the FICO remaining in force, but I would also ask for a dollar for dollar decrease in government spending.

#1, while I understand the sentiment, it really will not solve any problems in the long run.

#2. I am for getting rid of unemployment so I am not for increasing a program that I believe is harmful to getting people jobs.

    3. I am not sure what millionaires are getting, but currently you cannot have over a thousand dollars in the bank to collect SNAP. Unemployment benefits is something that I am against anyway, so I do not want to increase a program that needs to vanish. It would be like adding more onto Obamacare then saying you want to eliminate it.
