Please, NO derailing comments in this thread. If you are not voting in the Republican Primary, DO NOT VOTE, and DO NOT COMMENT. Thank you.

Now, I am posting this poll, because I have done this on some private boards, and it is amazing to me that Ron Paul wins them by a landslide every time. Understand, these are PRIVATE boards....this is no "shallow group of dedicated followers," that we are talking about, looking for polls to vote in...

So what say you? Who are you voting for?

Thanks! I like that there are two polls. Lets us see where the numbers are, and who would support who...

    Ron Paul.

I get this eerie feeling this is going to be our last chance to have one at the helm who truly believes in following the constitution as our forefathers intended it.

    I really liked his essay:

My Plan for a Freedom President
How I would put the Constitution back in the Oval Office

I agree. I am also beginning to believe the conspiracy theorists...everyone I talk to, every poll I do, the neighborhood signs I look at, all confirm that Ron Paul should be ahead in the polls. Now I know the new polls that came out the last two days show him nearly tied for first...but I honestly have not spoken to ANYONE who is voting for Romney. I only know 1 that is voting for Newt. Every person I talk to "on the street" talks about how we need to stop the foreign aid, and bring home the troops...it is reflected in polls that ask this question. But somehow all of this is not translating to the Gallup/Rasmussen world...

Nothing new here with the bias (I think this clip is funny, but also revealing):

Sometimes I wish he would go ahead with an independent run, but he won't.

I like Ron Paul but would not vote for him in a primary. Of course being a yellow dog Republican I would vote for one before Obama.

Paul is generally right concerning the Constitution and the feds ignoring it. Of course you can't cut one trillion from the budget in one year and in this technology driven world we can't be isolationist. I wish we could!

I do agree that we have no need keeping troops in western Europe, Japan and a passel of other countries. We should never have gone into Iraq and into Afghanistan only long enough to dispose of the terrorists. That region is Muslim and will never be our friend.

What amazes me with this poll, there is not one vote for Michelle yet. Several months ago people adamantly defended her, today she has no support.

I am voting for Ron Paul. You can cut $1 Trillion from the budget and not cause a catastrophe. At the end of WWII, Keynesians said it would be a disaster to cut the budget. Yet, the economy thrived and grew faster.

In Foreign policy, our policies in the last 20 years have been mostly failures mixed with some small successes. I do not see how continuing our foreign policy is in the best interest of anyone. Embracing free trade would be a better foreign policy strategy than what we have done in recent. As the policeman of the world, we have lost respect. I think it is time to give that up and let others take over.

#1 Yes you can cut 1 trillion dollars from the budget in a year. Have you looked at his plan? I have. A lot of it the president can do all by himself...

#2 Ron Paul is not an isolationist. He is big on trade, and positive interaction with other countries. He is a "non-interventionist." Meaning, he doesn't think we should get involved in every two bit war around the globe. I agree.

#3 Your point about Afghanistan is exactly Paul's position.

#4 You mentioned Rick Perry. That is my governor. Let me just tell you, his ads, and his personality on the debates, is a different man than what has been running our state. He is a crook. Moreover, he is about as big government as a Republican can get. Of course, he'd be better than Obama...but that is not saying much.

I am curious about your position, because from what you state above, it seems you agree with Paul, rather than Perry.

Disagree with you and Paul on the trillion dollar cit in the budget. He could not cut that much even if it were feasible, Congress would not let him and there is no line item veto.

Paul is too much of a libertarian for me. I agree with much of what he says about domestic affairs. However, I do not believe he is realistic when it comes to foreign affairs. I wish he were correct.

That doesn't matter. Several of the departments, including the military, are under direct command of the president. You could cut hundreds of billions, just by bringing most of the troops home, and closing embassies. The president can cut more, though cutting cabinet positions, and slashing Department of ed, etc. All of this is in the purview of the president. He has no need of congress.

I just don't understand. You just said something that agrees with Paul, and disagrees with every other candidate running, when you said...

"I do agree that we have no need keeping troops in western Europe, Japan and a passel of other countries. We should never have gone into Iraq and into Afghanistan only long enough to dispose of the terrorists. That region is Muslim and will never be our friend."

Every other candidate disagrees with that. Also, what do you mean, he is "too much of a libertarian"? You mean he believes in Freedom?

Did Rick Perry drop out or is he so low in the polls that he didn't rate a spot on your poll? That is my "other" vote, for Rick Perry.

Why is it that attacking someone over there record is "fighting like children?" I am glad they are fighting....the last thing I want is for someone to get to the general election, who has not been thoroughly flushed out.

I am still waiting for some true and electable candidate to come riding in from the sunset.

If it comes down to it, I will vote for whomever runs against Obama in the general election, and the most conservative candidate in the primary.

The problem is that most of the people currently running probably cannot win, even when almost given this election to loose. :BangHead:

That is kind of the nature of things, Mandy. When someone is against everything you stand for, and you believe that the person will destroy the country, only a cowardly person would stand on the sidelines and not fight, over the guise of "getting along." Millions of babies lives could very well be hanging in the balance...countless soldiers lives...sorry if we take that a little too seriously for you, and criticize those who would allow the murder to continue..

Yea my children take things seriously as well and I do not let them act that way either. Much less my Presidential candidate. It is not Biblical behavior to be condones by Christians.
