This Sunday I am going to visit First Baptist of Atlanta with Dr. Charles Stanley. I have been to his son’s Church Andy Stanley at Northpoint and think it’s great. I also think Charles Stanley’s sermons are wonderful so I want to visit that Church as well. Just wondering what everyone thought or has anyone been to either of these churches? What did you think?

I've been to both and served on staff at FBA.

Both are outstanding churches reaching different segments of the population. Both pastors are wonderful preachers, though with different styles.

At FBA, you'll get a very structured, formal experience with people dressed (mostly) like they would have for several decades. Dr Stanely will, of course, have on his suit and tie and will preach for about 45 minutes to an hour (if he is still in his regular form.)

The music will be good and a full choir and orchestra will be in the service. People will be nice and you should be able to get a great seat if you show up on time. There isn't a terrible seat but if you get in the first several sections around the platform (which comes out towards the congregation a bit) you'll have a wonderful time.

    Enjoy and be edified. :)

I have been to North Point for their Catalyst conference back in the day, and loved it.

I visited one Sunday. It was okay.

I wanted to visit FB A in 1996, but there was a bomb threat going on, so I just met Mr. Charles Stanley in the parking lot and shook his hand.

Are the Sunday broadcasts that we see on the cable TV just like a regular service?

Well I went to FBA Last Sunday and it was incredible! I really enjoyed the singing and the orchestra not to mention of course Dr. Charles Stanley’s message. I will be definitely be going back at times to visit because I really felt the Lord there!
