How do you think the candidates did?

    My personal view is:

    Romney was weak
    Gingrich was strong
Santorum was strong but not outstanding
    Perry was strong
Paul cam across as shrill and unconvincing

I agree with your assessment. Gingrich was on top of his game and got a couple of standing ovations. The conservative message to give poor people jobs instead of food stamps needs to be shouted from the rooftops.

Romney was wishy-washy. Santorum was strong but not outstanding (as you said). Perry was better than usual but sounded like a tape loop of his stump speeches.

Ron Paul? Wow, what a bunch of mis-statements! He said we are bombing Pakistan. OK, on rare occasions we are bombing specific personnel targets in Pakistan. He said we shouldn't have killed Osama bin Laden, we should have captured him and put him on trial. Finally, he said that the reason Al Qaeda flew planes into the Twin Towers was because we had been bombing Iraq for years. Another thing he said is that he wanted to go back to the pre-1913 federal income tax rate of 0%!

Ron Paul got booed when he said we need to treat other nations the way we would like to be treated.

It's OK because the Republicans declared me an enemy back when Bush was bailing out his favorite banks.

I am officially ashamed of the republican voiting block, as an entity. The Democrats have disgusted me for years, but I expect more out of people who claim to be conservative.

I know better than to enter a debate with you, but perhaps you could articulate where he is wrong ?

I am not wrong in the least. I saw what he said. His statement ignores the immoral and wrong actions of those we are in conflict with. It assumes that we are on equal moral ground. That is until we act the way we have and then we have acted immorally against them. I would have booed as well. His statement ignores facts.

He got booed when he invoked the golden rule. It is on video.

You are being as dishonest as anyone else who has ever been on here.

And what moral ground do we stand on ? Please explain our exalted status.

That's right that is when he got booed. Such a statement implies we have not treated people as we want to be treated. It also implies we have mistreated people namely other countries. We have not done this and we do treat others as we want to be treated.

To assert that the crowd was simply booing the invoking of the golden rule is to take it out of context and not honest at all.

You aren't going to answer my challenge, are you ?

Do you think starving a half million Iraqis to death was God's will ?

Do you like that we borrow about 5 billion dollars to give to Pakistan, every month, whaere a democracy was overthrown, by us, while at the same time, losing 4000 Americans along with another 5 billion a month to superimpose a democracy where it wasn't wanted is smart ?

I don't. Like I have said, I was stationed in the Persian Gulf in 1981, a full 31 years ago, and we are still trying to "straighten them up". It is the absolute stupidest policy we have ever had. We have lost enough, and spent enough.

When your taxes get raised by the next GOP president, to continue the wars, I hope to see you applaud.

Baloney. He was bood for saying we ought to treat people the way we would want to be treated. It's on the video. Twist it all you want, it's there.

I bet you still haven't read a single word of his.

I'll say no more about this, other than, I am completely ashamed of Republican voters.

He is correct, the Obama people brag about how often.

    Disagree with him on that.

We had two no fly zones over Iraq for years. Don't know about the bombing.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Well you will just have to sit with it.

Why? because I don't agree with him? Reminds me of some of the Calvinist debates. If you don't agree with them then you don't understand the issue. It appears to be more of a demonetization tactic made out of emotion rather than a reasoned disagreement.
