These men (elephant room panel/gospel coalition) claim that the bickering is killing the north american church, but I guess arresting fellow Christians is a much better response?

second link does not work. So, all I have to go on is the first link. Is there a way to verify this isn't just a blogger with axe to grind and making claims? Is there a way to get the other side of the story?

I will refrain from comment until I can get better, fuller information.

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything Apprising makes note of on their website.

Yes, it would be helpful, because I like Ken Silva, who runs Apprising Ministries.

    Thanks for the good link.

I am still waiting for outside confirmation and a response/statement from the Elephant Room side.

Great Vindication: Of course we defend our right to exclude from attendance those whose track record is unauthorized taping (a criminal act in Illinois) and out-of-context distortion. I stand by our security team’s professionalism and handling of any issue under pressure.

James MacDonald is sinning and unfortunately for him, his sins are being observed by hundreds if not thousands. This has absolutely snow balled on him, and irony of ironies; he has become the elephant in the room. He is making mistake after mistake and showing a lack of wisdom in who he is listening to.

He calls for unity, which he has shown anything but by embracing an abhorrent prosperity preacher who is sending hundreds if not thousands to hell, and telling anyone who does not agree to, quote un-quote "step off". He cancels Voddie's invitation to his conference because Voddie went public with his disagreement to invite TD Jakes. He has caused a racial divide in the evangelical camp in allowing accusations of racism that weren't really accusations of racism (if you know what I mean) to be aired, not to mention hurt me DEEPLY in labeling black men like me as uncle toms. It's bad enough we get that from liberals, but from our own camp is just betrayal.

I feel for James MacDonald. He is going through a lot. He believes he may have been too harsh and critical with others like the TD Jakes in the past so he is trying to reach out, but unfortunately in doing so he is going to the other extreme as he struggles to find that balance through the Holy Spirit.

If he thinks the elephant in the room 2 fiasco has been edifying, then he is in deep denial. To even use the words like "great vendication" indicates to me this is an individual who is desperate to pat himself on the back by knee deep in pragmatism.

Concert promoters routinely hire security to protect the "product" and "talent".

And unauthorized recording (bootlegging), stalking, etc. are not just problems of the secular world any more:

    Bootlegging at Gospel Concerts

    Diesel Sniffers and Gospel Groupies

No surprise that it's now a concern on the young restless reformed fanboys' conference circuit as well.

My friend. These are brothers in Christ we are talking about here, not some atheist organization. I am sad that you would so casually dismiss them as , "no surprise"

That is a colossal surprise that anyone who has the Holy Spirit indwelling them would resort to such tactics, and that you would use such a worldly term referring to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as "fanboys" This is the gospel not video games. :(

Here's an old discussion where I pretty much say all I care to say about his so-called ministry: http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=49933

If he was telling the truth, he wouldn't have to take quotes out of context (where he bothers to quote instead of giving an inaccurate summary of their alleged positions) to make his points. Of course most Christians won't go through the trouble of actually verifying what he claims others teach/believe, so he gets away with an enormous amount of deception.

When I was in seminary several professors stated in the class syllabi that they would not permit taping unless permission was granted and it was to be used only for study purposes. Some professors ran into Satan's tactics through some liars in class when they took the tapes out of context and presented it to one or more trustees. If I were the president at the time they would not have had a second chance. They would have been immediately dismissed and their grades erased with an explanation on their transcript.

    Sigh.

If the shoe fits wear it.

Oxford defines fanboy as a person who is extremely interested in something.

Notice in the OP you quoted (without comment) this "Apprising" interweb site calling James Macdonald a "Prophet-Führer".

I'd suggest if you want to be "appalled" by something actually being worldly start with that.

My friend. You of all people know words change their meaning. There are certain words we can't use anymore. Furthermore this was not a term being used in the Christian community until it was popularized by pop culture.

    Urban Dictionary meaning

    1. A person who is completely loyal to a game or company reguardless of if they ---- or not.
    2. A pathetic insult often used by fanboys themselves to try and put down people who don't like whatever it is they like.

Again as Christians we should examine these words very carefully before we label fellow brothers and sisters as such.

I agree my friend as I never defended their aggressiveness. I am not of the young and reformed crowd. Their new philosophy totally contradicts what the reformations actually stood for, but two wrongs do not make a right. We are seeing a lack of Godly wisdom on both sides. Christians do not threaten other Christians with arrest.

That I know you can agree?

Elephant Room 2 in their embrace of TD Jakes has set the black community back by years. It undid most if not all of the work us black Christians have lovingly and patiently put into our loved ones and friends who are stuck in the word faith/prosperity gospel. They embrace TD Jakes, and TD Jakes embraces Paula White, Creflo Dollar, Bishop Eddied Long etc.....
