This author seems to be popular. Has anyone read the above book? What he says is correct. So many these day will stop breathing if their iPhone or Smart phone is lost. So many today live and breathe their phones and Facebook. This is one reason why I have considered NOT upgrading to the iPhone in March and remaining to use my BlackBerry. Tell me about this author. I am NOT Reformed, so I doubt I will agree with everything he says. But Reformed & calvinist do have good books and good things to say.

I have known Tim for several years. A Canadian blogger who has developed a following in he blogosphere, he has only recently been writing books. Some of his interviews and seminars have allowed him to make a good name for himself while providing solid resources to the world. As well, his book reviews are fantastic.

I most appreciate his book reviews but also his interviews have been well done.

You can learn more about him at his website:

The issue is not the iPhone but the addiction to it. I know those who are equally addicted to the blackberry as others are to their iPhone so avoiding the iPhone will not stop you from being addicted. It's like avoiding watching inappropriate movies in the theaters and saying "I won't do that" but then watching them at home. Doesn't make a difference.

I very much respect Tim. I've found him to be very solid, well spoken and what he writes is well thought out. I very much appreciate his book reviews and wish he was able to do more but understand his life circumstances won't allow him to do so right now but I read his blog regularly.

In reference to facebook, I have resisted getting on it, because frankly I don't want to help further enrich some arrogant little dweeb whose already a billionaire, probably in secret agreements with the federal government, (and probably not of the elect for that matter). And also, the first time I got on facebook, it was showing me faces of people that were not really my personal friends under "people you may know". And I never figured out how to disable that. I don't want to see faces of people plastered up there with the subtext, "these individuals know you're online now". I am definitely more than computer literate and could not figure out how to disable this, through scripts or anything else. So I don't get on facebook currently.

And my point is, where are all the Bible (and specifically Baptist) forums? Are they all on facebook? This forum here is the best one I could find for Baptists specifically, and the most people ever on it at any given time is about 50. What is the premiere Bible (and specifically Baptist) forum?

There's a reason why the Blackberry is also known as a "Crack-berry"; as Ann pointed out, it's not the tool itself, but the person using it.

BTW: Better watch the business reports about RIM. Blackberry's on a serious down-swing.

Mark - the same things you write about Facebook can be said about Google. So what search engine do you use?
