It hasn't been officially called yet, but it looks like Santorum is going to take Alabama and Mississippi and Romney looks like he will come in third behind both Gingrich and Santorum. I hope Santorum keeps making headway here.

Santorum just named winner in Alabama as I was typing.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Will this make a difference? Can he beat Romney now?

If Santorum takes both Alabama and Mississippi he has a good chance of overtaking Romney. Romney can't beat Obama and Republicans are begining to realize that. So yeah, Santorum still has a chance to both win the nomination and beat Obama. And maybe not make a bigger mess of this country than we already have....

The biggest thing that Santorum has to do is stop responding to Romney's meme about him being the inevetable candidate. No one on the Right has ever REALLY wanted Romney (with all the political posts we have made on this board has there been a single person who supported him?) and so, he is the defautl victor becasue of the press not because he is the desired candidate. As Santorum gains momentum and recognition, he will rise further.

And, yes, he can win. He already has more delagates than it would appear from the count because of the super delegats who can vote for anyone, and because of Ohio and other places where the delagates are named later.

Congrats to Rick Santorum on winning Mississippi and Alabama. Go full steam ahead, not stopping to listen to the comments of Rush or Mitt.

I hope you all are right for I can't vote for Mitt and I surely can't vote for Barry.
