I have a prayer request, and I don't know exactly how to explain it. We all have sins that we battle, fall back into, and then regret having fallen back into. Mine is gluttony. I battle it daily. Some may try to call it a disorder or an addiction, but what it is, to me, is sin-gluttony.

I battle and win for months at a time, and then I fall back. I am not strong enough on my own, and obviously I have not yet truly given it over to God. Though I imagine that I have repented and turned away, obviously I have not. These are things I need to do.

    Please pray for me.

I hope I have not said anything offensive or wrong. Along with food, I am also known for my ability to stick my feet slap in my mouth.

Thanks for your candor and honesty. I will pray for you. We all look to be set free from our sin eternally while we battle our own flesh while here on Earth. That you are battling is a great sign!

Funny you should post that today! Ever have one of those days in which everything you say seems to be the wrong thing? That's been my day thus far lol!

I truly do thank you all for the prayers. Please keep on.

During prayer last night, I realized some thing. In the last year, through prayer and hard work, I've lost 70 pounds. People would ask me how I lost the weight, and I told them the honest truth-eat right, exercise, and pray pray pray pray. That is when my troubles began, when I began to openly and shamelessly give the glory for it all to God. I think that the devil doesn't like it when we glorify God, and I think Satan is throwing all he can at me right now to shut me up.

Knowing this gives me the motivation I need to carry on. So carry on I will. It also helps knowing where this barrage of attacks is coming from.

Just so y'all will know...this is not about me wanting to look better! I am happily married to a man who knew this was an issue for me, and loved me anyway. It's not about wanting to fit in or look like a super model. This is about me over coming this sin. Every time I indulge in this sin, I know I'm hammering those nails-He died for this sin (and all of my others, too.) It's also about insurance. We can't afford health insurance for me. And it's about wanting to be there and be healthy when my now 8 year old graduates high school, college, gets married, and makes me a granny. It's about wanting to be healthy to retire with my Mr. Wonderful and go do whatever tickles our fancy.

...And it stands in the way of me serving Christ. I've been asked so many times to please join the choir at our church, but I won't. I can't. How can I stand up and sing to people when my sin is so blatant? It would make me a hypocrite, wouldn't it?

Sorry-I don't mean to go on and on and on.

Please continue to pray for me. I'm just a flawed human, after all. A flawed human with athletes tongue

I wish I could help you get rid of all that guilt you are carrying around. I am sure you know about the difference between conviction from the Holy Spirit and the false guilt(usually accompanied by condemnation.) that the enemy piles on us. It is harder to walk in the freedom Jesus gives us than the weight of sorrow and condemnation the devil dishes out. I get the feeling that it really is condemnation not conviction that you almost without knowing it get up and sling over your shoulders everyday. The Devil ALWAYS LIES. HE hangs around to ONLY Steal, Kill, and DESTROY.PERIOD. Even with great and serious conviction of sin from the Holy Spirit you should not be going through feelings and thoughts of hopelessness, discouragement, confusion, and abandonment. I am not an always be happy name it claim it guy.Life can be very hard sometimes. Sometimes it can be hard all the time. I just want you to start being aware of the enemy's lies and destruction. Leave it on the ground and pick up your freedom in Jesus. Make any sense?
Also , it is ok to want to look better(by what you mean)super model is out for most of us. Looking good does not have to equal pride. While I'm at it;Who told you you can hammer nails into Jesus' hands anyway? You can't do that!!! HE IS RISEN. The tomb is empty, and so is the cross! How do we jump on Catholics for the communion thing, and the crucifix thing then think we hammer Him onto the cross ourselves? He is not mad at you!! He is always praying for you. Do you think the Father will not give Jesus His desires for you? I gotta stop this preaching thing I keep doing. Keep me informed.
