This is a question I have wondered. There are about a million insect species and many different types of animals. Can anyone assist? Thanks..

What did God say? Did he? If so, then God has a way to do it. Remember that many animals have been bred to have different breeds. He didn't need to take on 100 types of dogs - just one type to start them all. Same with the others. He could have taken youngsters. He could have taken eggs. Insects, I believe God could have taken care of Himself. :)

The Bible says that God told Noah to take the birds and land animals on the ark.

Yes, today there are millions of species of animals. There are 6,000 - 10,000 species of ants alone. But the overwhelming majority of all animals today are invertebrates - 97% Insects can survive horrible conditions and they could have lived on all the dead bodies floating around. It's also possible that some of the insects that thrive on living flesh could have hitched a ride on a camel.

Only 3% of animals today are vertebrates. The majority of invertebrates are insects and most of the others are in the seas. Even a few mammals didn't make it to the ark - whales and dolphins to begin with.

The ark was massively huge - the Bible says it contained three decks. It was one and a half time longer than a football field.

It could have easily held the relatively few land animals and birds. (compared to marine life and insects).

The majority of land animals - amphibians, reptiles, and mammals are fairly small. No bigger than a sheep. The larger animals - mammoths, rhinos, camels, horses, and dinosaurs - didn't comprise the majority.

This is the process he used to get all the animals on the ark. Noah took a pair of binoculars and tweezers to complete the process. He also had some milk jars. This is the way it would work. Noah looked at the elephants with the binoculars backwards. It made the elephants look really small, then he would take the tweezers and store the elephants in the milk jars.

What did Noah say when he was loading the animals on the ark?

    Now I herd everything!

It was God who did it and with God all things are possible.

Well, in the 1950's a fad swept America called Phone Booth Stuffing. The official world's record is 25 people in a regulation sized phone booth. One college group got 40 people in a phone booth, but it was found they cheated and used a slightly larger phone booth.

Now, I realize that animals weren't crammed into the ark like this, but it does show that you can get a lot more people or animals in a very small space if the area is properly used. And the ark was not small by any means but larger than many modern ships.

A++++ for this response. Thank you for answering my question. You answered it, which means I can save some money by not buying another book to find the answer. The insect species can survive without an ark and it is very possible that there were some that were wiped off the earth at the flood. 1 Million species is a conservative estimate as I bet there are far more than that. Yes even scientists do not have the answer. I got a FREE magazine of answers coming in the mail from Ken Ham. It should be interesting.

Many animals have changed the way they look as they migrated across the world and bred within their own gene pool, but are the same species. Tigers, elephants, and various types of bovine are a good example.

Well, apparently at some point, horses got into trouble, were placed in jail, and given prison uniforms. This is how zebras came into exsistance....or so I heard......

No one laughed at my procedure, so I will repeat it. Take some binoculars, look at the elephants with them backwards. It makes the elephants look really small. Take a pair of tweezers and put them in a milk bottle.

A question for the biologists among us. Is there a difference between a species and a kind. The Bible mentions "kinds" but says nothing of species? Would this resolve the room problem on the ark.

How in the world did the insects cross the ocean? This one I will need to ask God. I believe it happened, but how? Anyone?

Insects hop rides on floating debris. Can't find the exact article, but I'll keep looking.
