    Did you know - Congress (both parties) recently passed legislation paving the way for what the FAA predicts will be somewhere in the region of 30,000 drones in operation in US skies by 2020.

    More info has come out about this:
    http://www.infowars.com/air-force-document-drones-can-be-used-to-spy-on-americans/

    The AF document is here in a PDF file:

    http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/usaf/afi14-104.pdf

    So, will a drone be spying on you while you're in your backyard pool or having BBQ?

    Will a drone be able to "peep" through your windows to see what you are doing?

    When you have guests, will the person at the other end of the drone be logging the license plate numbers in your driveway?

    How many license plates will be logged when you're at church on Sunday (but they are probably already doing that via Google Earth)?

    Ya know, nearly everybody has a street view of their house/front door on Google Earth - realtors use them.

    Public places, parking lots, street cams, security cams - they are all over the place, but now in the skies above us?

    And, BTW, do ya think "when it all comes down" you'll sneak off to that hideway out in the hills?

    Big Brother will be watching, not only in public places, but now in your back yard, as well. And guess what? Republicans and Democrats voted for this bill. Oh, yes, it was attached to another bill and this was tacked on. But it should have been amended out, and it wasn't. And your president signed it.....

    What ever happened to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

    Thanks Lady Eagle. This must not be allowed. Given the electronic media too much information is being compiled on Americans. If it is there the Feds will get it. If drones are used the Feds will eventually get the information. NO DRONES over America!

    Well, they would get bored pretty quickly if they watched me. :laugh:

    This often backfires on government. How many times have we seen police caught beating some fellow who really did not offer resistance to arrest on webcams?

    They forget, it will be watching them too.

    Watch out for that Google Street View Car...wouldn't want it to capture you on camera! Who knows what the public might do with your picture!

    Good news!!

    I recently found out that my old Tennessee Air National Guard unit, the 118th Airlift Wing stationed at the Nashville airport, is losing its C-130H transport aircraft, but is gaining a squadron of UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles--i.e., drones).

    I just wonder if they'll be used for "Domestic Recon" (code for "spying") missions over the U.S. :tear:

    Well, great. Since we're near BNA, they'll be spying on me when I take out the trash in my PJs. :tear:

    So, here's what I want to know, will they be given air clearance by the tower? I sometimes log onto to the live air traffic feed and listen in. Will I be able to tell when the drones are coming so I'll know if it's safe to take out the trash?

    Come on now, guys! "If you're not doing anything wrong you shouldn't have anything to worry about." Right? Right?

    Sigh.

    Do these drones have weapons on board?

    This plus all the prison camps being built, Americans being targets by EO from Obama, it's getting weird?

    Well, is it? Why are you laughing?

    You hold to a vast Muslim conspiracy that's soon to implement Sharia law on America, are these same Muslims the ones who are behind these spy planes and prisons that are being built?

    I would think (of course I'm using common sense again) that whoever is running the show right now are the ones behind these things.

    I just don't see Islam involved here anywhere.

    I don't see a Muslim conspiracy [Yet] but I do see political correctness allowing the Muslim religion latitude in this country that is being denied Christians!

    On the southern horizon from where I "stay"----there seems to be some sort of Air Force flight pattern----because every now and then I see---on the horizon from me-----flying in "2's"----A-10 Attack planes and some sort of other Fighters----all unarmed

    As far as Drones flyin' over----I ain't never seen one yet---but if its spyin' on me out here in the woods of east central Alabama---it would be a total waste of fuel---cause I ain't doin' nothin' to be spied on for----and if I figure theres a Drone out there with my name on it-----well----I've got something in my gun cabinet . . . !!!

    Those drones----are they Turboprop or propelled by jet engines----makes a difference in how far I will have to "lead" them before the trigger is pulled:1_grouphug::1_grouphug:

    Imagery may be obtained with or without consent. Reasons the imagery might be collected with consent include:

    The following generally constitute legally valid requirements for domestic imagery:
    9.1.1. Natural Disasters. Locations in support of government planning for, emergency response to, or recovery from events such as tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, mudslides, fires, and other natural disasters.
    9.1.2. Counterintelligence, Force Protection, and Security-related Vulnerability Assessments. Requirements in support of critical infrastructure analysis on federal or private property where consent has been obtained as appropriate.
    9.1.3. Environmental Studies. Requirements in support of studies of wildlife, geologic features, or forestation, or similar scientific, agricultural, or environmental studies not related to regulatory or law enforcement actions.
    9.1.4. Exercise, Training, Testing, or Navigational Purposes. Requirements for imagery coverage in support of system or satellite calibration, sensor evaluation, algorithm or analytical developments and training or weapon systems development or training.

    http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/usaf/afi14-104.pdf

    From the article on infowars:

    “Collected imagery may incidentally include US persons or private property without consent,” the instruction states.

    According to DoD directive 5240.1-R Procedure 2 (which governs imagery of US persons without consent), reasons for collecting the data without consent would be

    a. individuals reasonable believed to be officers or employees, or otherwise acting for or on behalf, of a foreign power;

    b. an organization reasonably believed to be owned or controlled, directly or indirectly, by a foreign power;

    c. persons or organizations reasonably believed to be engaged or about to engage, in international terrorist or international narcotics activities;

    and the list goes on:

    http://atsdio.defense.gov/documents/5242.html

    The point is that the drones intelligence gathering criteria is regulated and defined.

    The point is that the government is collecting information they are not entitled to possess.

    The use of the internet is a perfect example of how such information can be used and abused. Just look at all the trash that shows up in your email! Look at the commercials that appear on this board!

    If you click on the links in my previous post you will see that the government is entitled and empowered to collect specific information. The hope is that they do not deviate from those guidelines and the fear is that they will.

    But there are no regulations on whether or not a company can harvest your email address and send you advertising. Just as there is no law saying a company can glean your mailing address or phone number and send you advertising.

    In the case of advertising on this board that is allowed by the board owners as a way to earn revenue. Board owners could stop the ads if they so choose.

    Some of the ads I have seen are inappropriate but perhaps my computer is being singled out.

    One reason I am a Conservative is that I don't trust the government much! I probably have a libertarian streak but these people go off on the deep end sometimes.
