I tend toward pre-trib pre-millennialism but don't think this news has much if anything to do with His timetable. I am not sure that Gog and Magog refer to Russia at all. Even if it does I agree with the author of the article -

I am that way also, but I have read all these same things for over 30 years. Jesus is coming. That's the headline we ought to concentrate on!

I wonder how many think the "battle of Armageddon" is a single event?

And how ought we to live in the light of His coming?

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

I have Netflix. Armageddon is just a few clicks away, that is, if I was someone who WANTED to watch a Bruce Willis movie on purpose.

IMO we should not try to fit everything that happens in the world and appears in newspapers into some type of end times fulfillment. Jesus will return in His way and in His time. That should be good enough for all of us. How many end times books can you now find in the bargain bin for less than a dollar?

The so-called Battle of Armageddon is not a physical battle!

Newspapers and cable news reports make poor Bible commentaries.

We are to be ready, are we not? The Bible talks of things that will happen towards the end times, does it not?

So while I don't think we should be eyes open 24 hours and be some conspiracy theorist on the subject, I think connecting the dots between major world events is somewhat logical, and common sense.

The problem is that our own logic seems to be wrong over and over again. If you had asked me back in the 70s I would have told you no way would we still be here in 2012!

But we are, and we, or our descendants, may very well be here in 2112 still trying to make the news fit scripture.

We don't understand time in God's eyes, but we can understand events that he speaks about in the Bible. It's somehwat logical for us to think "hey, it might happen in the next 5 years"...it's not logical to try to predict an exact date or time because the Bible says no man will know the time of Christ's return.

Simply because Christ doesn't return when we think he might, doesn't mean that what is happening in the news isn't connected.
