    KTN started an an thread - if your KJO daughter married into a non-KJO family.

    Suppose this was reverse - and your Non-KJO daughter was to marry into a KJO family?

    Would your answer still be the same?

    Would Fred be ecstatic about getting a new convert?

    My only concern over a hypothetical adult child marrying into a staunch King James Require/Only family isn't the King James Bible.

    I like the King James. It's the one I carry to church. It isn't my primary version that I read, however. I also read several others. So if my hypothetical child will be reading only the King James, I say that I really don't care. I'm just glad they are saved, going to church, and reading the Bible daily.

    My heads-up flag of concern would be the other non-Biblical issues that generally accompany the "you can only be saved or be a genuine Christian via the King James" type of KJO-ist.

    You see, there's those who are KJO who are tolerable and reasonable and then there are those KJO folks who are militant about it and have added more requirements to be justified than you can shake a stick at.

    My concern would be the amount of legalism - genuine legalism - taught in their church/home.

    Yeah, I know what you mean Scarlett. I've heard of some folks who believe that if you didn't hear the Gospel from the KJV when you trusted Christ as your Savior, then you're not really saved at all!! :tear:

    My main concern would be that of SALVATION. The KJVO myth, while false, isn't a salvation issue. It's an attempt by the devil to cast doubt on certain English translations of God's word, and to cause strife/contention/schism between Christians.

    I would hope they would follow the lead of the KJV translators in their Bible study-

    "Therefore as S. Augustine saith, that variety of Translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures: so diversity of signification and sense in the margin, where the text is no so clear, must needs do good, yea, is necessary, as we are persuaded."
