36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

    1. When the audiance "heard this" - that God hath made that same Jesus both Savior and Lord - they were cut to the heart with conviction of their sins.

    2. Their question "what shall we do" was in direct response to being cut to the heart in conviction over their rejection and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

    3. Peter's response "repent" was in reference to what they were convicted about or cut to the heart about.

    4. The Greek structure only commands to be baptized those who repent.

    5. "for remission of sins" means because of remission of sins obtained by repentance as Peter later proves that remission of sins is the direct consequence of conversion to the gospel (Acts 10:43) and baptism is a "figure" not a sacrament (1 Pet. 3:21).

    6. Baptism provides the basis of acceptance into church membership: - "were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them " - v. 40

    7. Repentance, remission of sin, baptism into church membership all precede and are the basis for the promise "ye shall receive the gift of the Spirit."

Peter is talking about the baptism in the Spirit on the day of Pentecost. The new house of God was baptized in the Spirt and now the Spirit indwelt this new house of God. Partaking of it required salvation and membership by water baptism into the new house of God.

This is the meaning of 1 Corinthians 3:16 where the local congregation at Corinth ("ye" not "we") is described as the "temple of the Holy Spirit" and when they were added to that congregation they were made to "drink into that" Spirit, which is a metaphorical way to say they were made PARTAKERS of the ECCLESIASTICAL benefits of the Spirit of God as spelled out in Acts 2:41-46:

42 ¶ And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
    44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved
    .

Such benefits they were made partaker of are expanded in 1 Corinthians 12:-14 which included the temporary sign gifts bestowed upon them through apostolic laying on of hands - 2 Cor. 12:12.

The New Testament congregation is the "house of God" (1 Tim. 3:15) and those who are added to its membership are partakers of its ministry (1 Tim. 3:1-13) and its doctrine (1 Tim. 3:16-4:6) due to the Spirit of God indwelling it, thus making it "the pillar and ground of the truth." The historical baptism in the Spirit was an INSTITUTIONAL baptism when the "fire" was imparted to the New Testament congregation which is perpetualized through obedience to the Great Commission through reproduction of like faith and order. That is precisely what we see in the New Testament book of Acts - the reproduction of congregations of like faith and order beginning with the Spirit baptized congregation in Jerusalem.

False Teaching ! Remission of sins is had legally by all for whom Christ died by His Grace and through His Blood alone Eph 1:7

    In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

This Truth is part of the Gospel message Paul Preached, and it was later believed as the Gospel of their Salvation Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The Gospel merely gives the Elect a Knowledge of their salvation because of Remission of sins by the Blood of Christ Lk 1:77

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by or in or through the remission of their sins,

And conversion comes as a consequence of that Knowledge !

Remission of sins [Before God and Justice] is the direct consequent of the blood and Work of Christ !

Repentance is a result of regeneration. Why would an unregenerate person want to repent? Unregenerate people are simply "sorry," or regret they got caught or screwed up.

Acts 2:38 and Acts 10:43 expose your false messed up gospel! You still need to go learn what it means "I have purposed it; I WILL DO it"

The people saved by God were placed into the body of christ, the "Church" by act of the Holy Spirit placing them into union with Christ, while water baptism placed them into membership within local church...

That is simply not true! Regeneration unites the believer with Christ spiritually and justification unites the believer with Christ legally. The baptism in the Spirit has nothing to do with individual salvation at all.

1 Cor. 12:13 describes the work of the Holy Spirit not the baptism in the Spirit which is the work of Christ. This work of the Holy Spirit is spelled out in 1 Cor. 3:5-16 where the baptismal administrators work as "one" together under the direction of the Holy Spirit to build local assemblies which are individually and geographically located "temple of the Holy Spirit" - 1 Cor. 3:16.

By refusing to see that the Bible clearly teaches there there is but ONE Church, Universal, made up of local assemblies, you keep coming up with same answers!

Would you care to provide any scripture that literally and explicitly says "universal" or "invisible" in regard to ANY church in the New Testament? Would you care to provide any metaphor used in the scriptures of the church that depicts universal of invisible characteristics?

You are confusing the kingdom of God with the church of God.

Paul used the common GENERIC sense of terms when writing to the congregations when these letters were by design intended to be passed from church to church (Col. 4:16).

The Apostolic context of "we" in every letter written by Paul is to Christians who shared the common faith, common kind of assembly, common baptism and common mission.

There are no epistles or books in the New Testament addressed to anyone outside of local visible congregations of baptized believers sharing the common faith once delivered. Hence, "the church" is simply the Generic sense mean "churches of Christ"

For example, can you give such a clear statement and yet prove that this "one" church is not "one" in kind versus "one" in number? The common generic use of terms by Paul can be easily interpeted to mean "one" IN KIND not merely "one" IN NUMBER.

Furthermore, how can such a doctrinally divided mass fit the description in 1 Cor. 12:24-26??? How can "ALL" members rejoice or even know about the joy or sorrow of "ONE" member in your type of church?

He is writing the congregation at Ephesus and most likely this letter was to be shared with the sister congregations as that was the pattern of Paul (Col. 4:16) as he wrote from prison.

He used generic terms throughout this letter so that it would apply to those who fit those terms.

    1. "The laborer is worthy of his hire" a Universal invisible laborer?????
    2. "The husband" - a universal invisible husband????
    3. "The wife" - a universal invisible wife???
    4. "The flesh" - a universal invisible flesh?
    5. "The church" a universal invisible church????

Ephesians 4 is about PRACTICAL WORKING unity and glorifying Christ here on earth and the thought begins in Ephesians 3:21.

If the "one body" has reference to a universal invisible body rather than the common kind shared by all readers (1 Cor. 12:27 "ye" not "we") of this epistle then why did he not start with "one Spirit" instead of "one body"? Or "one faith" instead of "one body" or "one baptism" instead of "one body"?

Answer: Because the most visible demonstration of practical working unity on earth is Christians working together in "one body" in one location for the glory of God. Nothing represents practical working Christianity than that! Certainly the so-called universal invisible so-called body of Christ is completely ludricous when it comes to PRACTICAL WORKING UNITY between believers.

This was the "one body" all his readers shared in common with each other - local visible kind of body as spelled out in 1 Cor. 12:27 and each reader was actually a member in "one body" in particular.

Again , what does the lord see when he sees the Body of Christ?

Does he see ALl who were sealed in Christ by the Holy Spirit since pentacost?

or does he see all of the local assemblies since that time, or just ONE Body?

He sees the body of Christ he is looking at! Read 1 Corinthians 12:27 where Paul EXCLUDES HIMSELF from the body of Christ he is addressing! He said "YE ARE" but did not say "WE are."

Each new testament congregation is the body of Christ in that locality as they were "at Corinth."

Don't you recognize yourself as a METAPHORICAL "member" of the METAPHORICAL congregational "body" into which you were received by profession of faith and baptism (Acts 2:40)?????

Why call yourself a metaphorical "member" of that particular church if that church is not a "metaphorical" body???

Why don't you provide scripture that says this IF the scripture says this? I will tell you why! Because you cannot do it because there is no scripture that says this.

Why take a position that cannot be supported by clear and explicit statements from scripture??????

Your theory is based upon a lot of PRESUMPTIONS that you READ INTO some texts which when placed back into their context condemn your interpretations of them.
