What a beautiful day in Greenville, SC today. Its so beautiful I am about to go to downtown Greenville to do some evangelism & open air preaching if possible. I was going to preach on the coming return of Christ (however that message is not ready) so will preach on true & false converts which is probably a far more relevant message for my area where Culture Christianity is everywhere. 90-99% of the Christians here are dispensationalist so everyone agrees with me that Christ will return. However many think that growing up a christian makes them one, which is false. One needs to repent, and turn to Christ for only He can forgive ones sins.

Another drawback to my area is that many hold to a very arminian view of evangelism which says that results=effectiveness. They ignore the examples of Noah & Jeremiah whom did not have a single convert in their evangelism ministries. I was chatting with a guy on FB whom refuses to join me again, because street evangelism is "ineffective" in his eyes, because he has never seen a convert. Its not about the results its about the obedience for God will bring the converts (Ac 13:48). I fully trust in the Sovereignty of God in salvation (Ac 13:48). John MacArthur & JI Packer make a very strong case for this in their books.

We are told to preach the gospel to the world. We leave it to the Holy Spirit to convict their hearts. One things that irritates me is people who judge others for lack of converts. I'll pray for you today as you share the gospel to the lost people of Greenville.

Thank you brother I appreciate it. Sadly my church does not do street evangelism, but I do it regardless. Brother I replied to your PM but I do not know if it got sent. I hope you got it.

God is Sovereign in all things including salvation.

Not to derail your thread but I would note that dispensationalists are not the pnly ones who believe in the visible return of Jesus Christ. Amillennialists, classic premillennialists, post millennialists also believe in the visible return. They are just a little [or lot depending on which one] closer to the Scriptural teaching than dispensationalists are. It is a shame that the Scofield Bible was ever published in this country!

Dispensationalists also believe God is sovereign in salvation. The question isn't Who is sovereign, man or God, but rather does God give enough faith for coming to Christ to all or to just some.

Either way, results does not equate with being faithful and serving and God well.

We can lay that fallacy at the foot of the church growth movement rather than at any particular systemic theology.
