What are your pics? I have in my possession these books

Single men are like Waffles & Single women are like Spaghetti
Discovering the Mind of a Woman

The later book got recommended to me by a IFB, and he was recommended the book by a professor at Bob Jones University, so the later book may be the better of the two, however I am not sure. What do you say? I was going to buy the five love languages book by Gary Chapman, but being secular probably means that the book has lots of Psycho-babble in its content. I am not interested in psycho-babble, but in the scripture and so seek books from authors with a more conservative leaning, rather than a psycho-babble humanistic worldview.

It may not seem like it applies, but Just Do Something by Kevin DeYoung has been very helpful to some of the single folks in my ministry. I think "the one" has been so mystified that many of the folks I've dealt with needed a lightening bolt or a burning bush when they were considering who to date/pursue/marry.

Gotta love the alternative title: How to make decisions without dreams, visions, fleeces, impressions, open doors, random bible verses, casting lots, liver shivers, writing in the sky, ect.

I dont agree with Harris. He takes his experience and tries to make a universal truth out of it.

I don't agree with the primary premise of the book (except maybe for young teenagers, who have zero good reasons for dating). He basically wants people to date differently. He does have some good things to say, and is generally very helpful to listen to now that he is a pastor. He wrote this book when he was very young.

Somewhat along this line, does anyone know of any books targeted to help a person who truly believes he/she has what some people term "the gift of celebacy"?

This seems to be a rarely discussed topic in most circles, yet the Apostle Paul seems to make reference to it in 1 Corinthians 7.

Anyone know of any available material on this aspect of life?

Maybe I'm just old fashioned as well as being and old timer.

What's wrong with simply using the Bible and trusting God to lead you out of a single life, when He's ready for you to be married? Scriptures are filled with examples of the results of impatience.
