How does that apply to you while in the pulpit preaching?

I'm not a preacher, but I've seen it. I think the Lord anoints the preaching as much as the preacher. And I think it manifests itself, not necessarily in the preacher and the preaching, but also in the response of the hearers.

It is simply the work of the Spirit guiding the preacher, empowering the words, convicting the hearts of the hearers, and empowering a response of faith.

It is the simply the activity of the Spirit, from beginning to end, with the participation of the preacher and the hearers.

The Spirit can use anyone He wants, in any manner He wants. Some persons tend to be used more frequently than others for some reason. Sometimes it is for a moment, sometimes a season, or sometimes a lifetime of ministry. Those who tend to be used frequently are often referred to as having the "anointing" of the Lord. I have known one or two preachers that I believed were truly anointed for a season. I have known of a number of others who were reputed to be anointed, but they were simply master manipulators in my opinion. Those who were truly anointed presided over life-changing events. Those who manipulate may see some excitement among those who make decisions for a time, but the excitement fades and their lifestyle returns to the way it was before.

Baptist Believer, well said. The Holy Spirit doesn't require gifted orators to do His work. He can use any of us.

All of us would do well to remember I Corinthians 4:7
If our preaching produces a response; if our witnessing produces a response, we should not ever get the idea we're hot stuff spiritually.

To what verse or passage does "anointing of the Lord" refer. Luke 4:19?

Is it a "special" enabling by the Holy Spirit given to pastors to preach the Lord, or is it that he"annoits" and uses the actual message from the Word?

Is it in the Bible, that the Spirit annoits the pastors to preach, or is it something assumed to be there?

Many people claim many things are in the bible when they are not. Please give the passage that says Preachers have a special anointing. We are all anointed (1John 2:27) but I know of no passage that says preachers are specially anointed.

Know that Isaiah said that the Lord watches over his word, will not return void, accomplish that which it was intended to do,,,

Would that be consider an "annoiting?"

I don't think so. I believe that is simply the character of God's word (His activity). If God acts, it will happen with appropriate consequences.

The biblical witness demonstrates over and over that the Kingdom of God (that is, everything that God exercises His authority over), is managed primarily by words. God's words are creative acts, all the way from the creation in Genesis to the new heaven and earth in Revelation. Even many of Jesus' miracles hinged on spoken words, even though Jesus had/has a material body and would often touch a person who was being healed or occasionally use materials such as water (water into wine) or mud (healing a blind man). But, in my opinion, the touch was about love and acceptance rather than a requirement, and the use of materials was to symbolically teach, not a requirement.
