In a victory for President Obama, the Supreme Court decided to uphold his signature health care law's individual mandate in a split decision, upending speculation after hostile-seeming oral arguments in March that the justices would overturn the law. The mandate has been upheld as a tax, according to SCOTUSblog, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the liberal wing of the court. Tom Goldstein of SCOTUSblog says Roberts' vote "saved' the Affordable Care Act

Using the twisted logic of the left 5 members of the Supreme Court have decreed that a Fine is a Tax.

That is incorrect. While Obama was running around saying ti was definitely not a tax his lawyers at the SC argued that it is a tax. As usual he lied.

No his lawyers lied. The democrats sold the bill without mentioning a tax. Particularly since this "tax" will be imposed on the low income people and young people who do not need health insurance. I believe the argument was made during the Court review that a tax could not be selectively imposed. Obviously the court disagreed.

What was Roberts' motive? This ruling will hopefully reinvigorate the "Tea Party" and all patriotic Americans who believe that we are a Constitutional Republic to kick the people who passed this monstrous 2700 page attack on freedom OUT!

Or perhaps this is another way of God starting to exact His judgment against this seemingly more and more every day, Godless, non-Christ-honoring nation?

I fear you are correct! This law will also fund abortions.

We really shouldn't fear it. It just means that Jesus is on the way!!!:praying:

But as I said in another thread, evangelicals are giving tacit approval of Mormonism. So how do we have a platform left to complain about abortion?

Maybe this is just God's way of saying enough is enough as He systematically allows the pieces to come together for the country to economically implode?

This whole thing just looks so much like what happened to ancient Israel in Isaiah 9 where God just kept giving them warnings and they just defiantly kept rejecting His warnings and digging in their heels to do it their way.

Remember how congress was railroaded into passing this mess in the first place?

Seems to me that I recall Pelosi saying that congress has to pass it in order to find out what's in it.

Isn't that something like the chemist telling you that you've got to drink up his concotion first so that you can find out if there's any fatal poison in it?

Let's see......Now, if "pro" is the exact opposite of "con," would that then make CONgress the exact opposite of PROgress???? :tear:

    Well, now we all know.

It's all about our money and not our health - i.e. death panels and abortions of convenience.

Senior citizens need to do the patriotic thing and die (assisted suicide, now legal in two states, Washington and Oregon).

Also, that we don't have to "buy it".

However if we don't buy it we have to pay a tax for not buying it.

Old saying, "A fine is a tax for doing something wrong and a tax is a fine for doing something right." No good deed goes unpunished.

This is why I loved what Rick Perry said about making Congress part time and sending them home to work underneath the same laws that they create just like everyone else has to do.

Yes, the Lord is giving us as a nation exactly what we deserve, and for that matter, it is just starting. Look at the choice for President. As I reminder, I am voting for Mitt Romney, but not out of any confidence in the man. It is an act of total desperation. Lets consider some facts.

Everyone's hero, George W. Bush, appointed your other hero, Chief Justice Roberts, who, when it came down to a crucial decision, sided with your third hero, Barack Obama.

Mr. Romney immediately used this for his political advantage, not that he cares about health care, the American people, or anything else other than his future political power, but he said, in front of the entire nation, that he was going to repeal Obamacare his first day in office. There are three things wrong with that.

    1. He will never have a first day in office.
    2. He created the concept while governor of Massachusettes, so he wants to repeal an invention of his own creation.
    3. Even if he was elected (LOL) the Congress will be enough Democratic to derail it.

So, to all of you who let the Republican Party over the last 24 years become what it is today, you get exactly what you deserve, an Obama second term.

For all you liberal Republicans which make up 90% of the posters, here is your prize, on a silver platter, signed, sealed and delivered.

Oh, let me guess, you could not have done anything about it anyhow since Bush the First, Clinton, Bush the Second, and Obama were all ordained and elected before the foundation of the world to make the Republican Party a liberal entity.

They are part time, and get paid full time. Search the internet sometime and call up their days off for an entire calendar year. It is an outrage.

They are in Hawaii on "planning" meetings (in hot tubs, beaches, golf courses, etc...).

Is that a fiddle I hear, smoke I smell?

Based on their results over the last few sessions, I would say it would be a good idea to do a double take on the smell of the smoke. I doubt it is regular tobacco.

One big problem is that people are confused as to what a conservative is. There are no conservatives on the court. All are liberals. They just vary in the degree of their liberalism. Not a single judge is a constitutionalist so there is no conservatives. By the way if you want to better understand what a constitutionalist is look to Ron Paul.
Sadly it is about the same with the church. Many who claim to be conservatives are actually moderate at best with most being liberal. The problem stems from looking at others and grading ourselves or others. For political issues we need to look at the constitution and how it was interpreted originally, not the current unconstitutional laws of today. For the purpose of the church we need to look at the Word of God, not what someone else is doing or saying. We are using the wrong set of gages to determine what we really are and are self deceived.
