Brown vs Board of Education

The way I count it is educational segregation was required in seventeen states (the old Confederacy\Missouri\Kentucky\Tennessee plus Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia).

In the States where it was optional, we know it was aimed at Negros\Blacks in Kansas. I'll hazard a guess the in Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming it was aimed at Mexican-Americans. Texas used the same laws for both "Negros" and Mexican-Americans.

In California, Chinese-Americans were the target.

My take is otherwise law abiding American citizens were unable to take full advantage of the taxes their parents paid.

 

Biull, you are aware of ther Chinese Exclusion Act, the Anti-Chinese Riots, the State of California's Anti-Chinese laws. Back East y'all had a Colored\Negro "problem", Not that many of those in California, so the Chinese took the brunt of racism out here. Remember, there have been Chinese in California since 1849.
