First, do you agree with Obama on this:

Please express your disappointment, civilly, over the fact that the Obama Administration is defending a McCarthy-era law entangling religion and government:

The Freedom From Religious Foundation is saying that the National Day of Prayer is un-constitutional.
Yet, what example are they using to indicate the kind of fight?

    From the linked article:

FFRF is in a David vs. Goliath battle. The religious-right is using the National Day of Prayer court battle as a fundraising and organizing tool. Help defend the decision.

Of course my first reposne to a FFRF'er is that I dont believe in religion.

But should we take this group seriously? What should we do?

    Salty, from the same article:

Obama is not against a national day of prayer. He is not supporting this group.

It is not clear to me from your statement if you believe a National Day of Prayer is good or bad.

To me it is OK as it does not specify the day as a Christian National Day of Prayer or a Islam National Day of Prayer, or a Hindu National Day of Prayer. If it specified one group I would be against it. As it encourages all people, regardless of their religious conviction to pray I do not see a problem with it.

I will think more on this.

That is the reason I included that statement!

I am in favor of the National Day of Prayer. What I find interesting is that those who opposed "religion" and say there is not God - would find a problem with folks praying.

First, the govt is not making you pray, anymore than I have to observe homosexual activities sponsored by the govt.
