Facebook only has "like" buttons to show agreement.

Should there be an option of a "dislike" button?

People often disagree with what I say (even on the rare occasions when I'm right), and I just ignore it. I don't like being disagreed with any more than anyone else does, but I don't let it control what I think of myself.

Clicking on a "like" or a "dislike" button is like most things--just a matter of opinion. I've learned that everyone has an opinion, and many tend to think that their opinion is gospel and would never admit to the possibility of being wrong. I have no problem admitting how wrong I am--especially with so many telling me that I am.

From what I can tell the only time you see "unlike" is when you hit the like button - so you can undo the "like"

No it is an actual dislike button but you have to agree to get it.

+1., at some point I had a message displaying the option to enable a 'dislike' button and I decided against it. I was raised with the adage,"if you can't say anything nice, don't say anthing at all." :saint:

Too bad everyone (especially teens) don't live by those words. Teens are so quick to publicly humiliate anyone they decide not to like for any petty reason they want. That's why so many teens will do just about anything to be accepted by their peers, and why so many teens commit suicide--because of rejection by their peers.

I live by what is commonly called "The Golden Rule", which was taken from scripture; I just can't find it. That is, to treat everyone the way I want to be treated.

    No, I want equal time!

Some have said ,"if you can't say anything nice, don't say anthing at all." (Mat 7:12)
Well suppose someone puts on facebook a post about "isnt it great that you can be gay* and join the Army!"
and there are a couple hundred "likes". I just wonder how many folks would hit a "dislike"? hmmmm I know I would hit the dislike button. Would you?

    Salty

    * I only used the inproper term of "gay" as that is how those from L.E.F.T. would refer to homosexuals in such a post.
