Let's support our right to stand for traditional marriage.

I don't care if you are a conservative or a liberal.

I don't care if you are a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Independent.

If you are an AMERICAN you ought to be outraged that many in government think they have the right to throw their power around and hurt businesses in this country simply because those businesses do not share their personal views.

And if you are a Christian you ought to despise the blight on our society that is the sin of homosexuality (I didn't say despise the people).

Buying something at Chick-Fil-A today supports a lot of good things.

    Amen & Amen!!!

God Bless the Cathey family and Chic-fil-A for sticking their necks out in support of Biblical marriage and Godly values. I'm all for supporting any business, group,or individual that is willing to stand for the truth regardless of the consequences in this world today. My wife and I plan to dine there today for lunch or dinner. Let's send a message with our dollars and our presence. After all the money we have is all God's anyway. I think He would approve of this kind of thing.

    Blessings to all,
    Greg & Vicki Perry:jesus:

I'm too far away to lend physical support myself.

Emailed a friend near one who is buying sandwiches and will give them to someone in need. I'll reimburse my friend.

Find a way to be an activist for Christ today by supporting this Christian business. Find a way to be counted among those who believe the Bible.

For example, express your support to the Cathy family.

Shouldn't your voice be heard everyday, at every opportunity?

What assurance do any of us have that changing parties at the top in Washington is going to materially change anything in today's society? While the face may change in the White House, that doesn't materially change the rest of the iceburg that's hidden beneath the waters.

I'm not saying don't vote, not by a long shot. Just don't rely on voting as the best way to make your voice heard. Make it heard today!

I don't think I'm enriching a chicken joint has any bearing on anything. That achieves nothing...but the vote tells the liberals to grow up.

Stopping in at Chick-fil-A tonight after work. This will be the first time there for me. It will not be the last.

Our local 9/12 club is sending a bus load to the Allentown PA Chick-fil-A

Please! Can't we stop with these juvenile faux stands for and against things when we don't get our way about something? Buying a sandwich of any kind from anyone is not standing up for traditional marriage any more then standing in a parking lot makes you a car.

Come on people, seek out depth and purpose in your faith. These shallow, superficial stands and protests create shallow superficial faith that is easily uprooted when real crisis and challenges come their way.

    This is silly.

Supporting a business that is unashamed of its support for traditional marriage is a good thing.

You don't have to DO it yourself.

But I think it is quite silly for you to RESIST the idea of it- especially under the guise that doing so means you somehow have a deeper faith.

Went by for a quick lunch but the drive in was backed up 10 cars deep, so I'll go tonight as I go to church.

As much as you show your smug superiority to all of us who agree, you're right in a way. Going to eat at Chick-fil-A will do nothing to increase our faith, but taking a stand for the 1st Amendment that allows for freedom of speech without a government trying to destroy your business means alot. Taking a stand for the importance of marriage means alot. Could I support marriage without going to the restaurant? Sure, but I can send a message to our nation's leaders, most notably the Mayors of Boston and Chcago, that we will stand for a biblical definition of marriage.

It's a symbol, but symbols are powerful.

    Praise God!!!!

As I am writing this post I am listening to a live broadcast over WGCR.net which is the Christian radio station from Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest,NC which is in the western NC area around Asheville. They are not only doing live remotes from the area Chic-fil-A's but also transmitting reports from news sources in the NC,SC,GA,Tenn. region and according to every report going on LIVE right now (12:35pm EST)EVERY Chic-fil-A in the coverage area is PACKED with people who have come out to enjoy lunch and show their support for the stand for Traditional Biblical Marriage that the Cathey family has taken. Praise God. It is also coming out though that the lame mainstream media is focusing ONLY on the few anti-family protestors that have shown up. WGCR is an excellent church based AM radio station (50,000 watts)with an excellent reach and now worldwide on the internet. I highly recommend them. I personally know their Pastor,Bro.Randy Barton and he is a good man of God who has poured his life and ministry into helping those in his area. He is currently doing live remote reports from the area Chic-fil-A's that you can liten to by logging on to WGCR.net.
On a lighter note, it is being reported that the chickens of America have announced that it is time for a mass exodus to the cities of Boston and Chicago for safe haven!

Actually I'm anti-smug, the fundamentalists organizing chicken buying days are the smug ones. Now anti-smug is not any better then smug, but the symptoms only show up in reaction to large amounts of smug, such as in the "chickens for Jesus" or whatever it's called, campaign going on today.

Symbols are powerful things, valuable things. You don't think a drive thru full of cars is a symbol for anything other than we are going to make profit for the things and people "we" like do you?

    Very well said, Tom.

I tried to say this very thing but lacked the ability to say it as clearly as you did.

    Thanks.

its also time to arise and face the facts that there is a group of people in high places that would want to have rights redtricted, to have the state dictate what to believe, do, and wants God totally out of the public square, to be totally void of Him!

I support everyone who is going to Chik-fil-A today. It's your right to exercise your conscience as you see fit.

I will not be there. I am not smug, but I am cynical.

I know that not every one who is going to Chik-fil-A today believes that this makes a dent in the homosexual agenda, but some naively do.

I just wish that mass droves of Christians who will be eating there today would also, in mass droves go to church tonight, bringing with them the names of homosexuals in their communities to pray for, and pray for individuals with as much fervor tonight at church - or even in the privacy of their home - as they eat that sandwich at lunch.

I fear that won't be the case.

Therein lies my cynicism. But, I will not tell anyone that they should not go or exercise their conscience.

Go and eat in peace with your convictions.

Interesting you should mention "Chickens for Jesus". So I googled it I discovered this and this . I imagine you might have gotten your idea for that from the 2nd.

The symbol isn't about what Chick-fil-A makes it. It is what those people who are standing in the line make of it. So I'll just go ahead and buy a sandwich there. You want me to buy one for you? Or maybe make a donation to them in your name? :tongue3:
