David Jeremiah has a new book coming out of which I very much look forward to getting and I pre-ordered a copy today. Today he preached on the doctrine of Total Depravity and how Biblical he was! Some hard line Calvinists will accuse Dr. Jeremiah of not being Biblical, as God does not love, God hates!!! Yes God does hate what people have become, but He does love them, and wishes to redeem the whole world (Jn 3:16, 2 Pet 3:9, 1 Jn 2:2). He died for the ungodly, and even the false teachers as the scriptures say. I challenge the hard line extreme Calvinist to think Biblically and check out this new book coming out. Pre-Order your copy. Here is a quote from the introduction.

I challenge you to read the whole counsel of God not a man who does anything he can to make a buck of someone. He's even stooped to using Tim Tebow to try to gain popularity.

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth." Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

I have never read any books by Dr. Jeremiah, but I listen to him almost everyday on my local radio station. Love his preaching and teaching. Great man of God.

Jeremiah offered a book review on this false message:

14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.

Those who remain apart from Jesus remain apart from His love.

    Paul did not agree either:
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Paul did not say the love of God is revealed....none of the Apostles said that. They knew the love of God is only in Christ.

Demonstrating that God is a God of wrath does not also mean He does not love even the very objects of his wrath....Dr. Jeremiah covers this in the portion cited in the OP:
Wrath and Love are not either/or's

The title of the book in the OP...does not reflect the message of the apostles in scripture.....God does indeed love sinners......IN CHRIST.

No "sinners" are "in Christ". Those who are "in Christ" are not sinners.

"I'm only a sinner saved by grace."
Paul considered himself as "the chief of sinners, because he persecuted the church of God." But he still considered himself a sinner, nevertheless.
Even after we are saved we are still sinners. We do not, on this earth, reach a state of entire sanctification--a state without sin.

Read 1John 1:8,10. To declare sinlessness (not a sinner), is to stand on shaky ground.

One SINS yes....that is not debated, but I meant to say that a born-again Christian may still sin, but he is not a "sinner" by identity, not as he was prior to becoming a New Creature. It is not right to call oneself a "sinner" in the same sense as they were prior to Salvation. We still sin, but we are not (by identity) "sinners".

Either way, my response came from what I think was a misunderstanding of what Icon was saying when he said God loves them "in Christ"....I don't think he meant "in Christ" as I was using it here anyway. I think he meant it in the sense that Christ, and not the Father is that member of the God-head through whom sinners are "loved". I don't agree with that, but I think that is what he was trying to say anyway.

    Hos,

I mean it simply as the bible describes it in romans 5 and romans 8

Those justified in romans 5- [the elect who God regenerates ] are described in this way:
5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

This is only true of those given the Holy Spirit.....so the premise of The Op is false from the start.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Those elect who are being spoken of were sinners from conception, yet God loves sinners.....In Christ.....Jesus dies a once for all time death for those WHO ARE SANCTIFIED.

When he died, we died----romans 6 as he was raised...so are we in Him.
At regeneration it is put to our account. beofre the Spirit quickens us, we were children of wrath even as others.
