I'm pleased that Baptists never indulge themselves in family feuds.

Not to mention to liberals what they preach is not what they demand of themselves. Look no further than the intolerance of those demanding tolerance. Or the colossal waste of energy being committed by Al Gore and others preaching "green".

Republicans should get credit for consistency - charity begins and ends at home.

    Uh huh...

And for Dems there is no such thing as "charity" - only vote buying with taxpayer money.

Seriously, billwald, doesn't it bother you the least that Obama is so uncaring for his family?

Seriously, no. Every family has its own private disputes. Never was any in your family?

The facts don't bear that out. Do a search for studies on this and you will find that conservatives are generally more charitable than liberals. One big difference is that we give on our own accord and directly to charities and people in need instead of pawning off our responsibility onto the government and we don't see paying our taxes as the same as charitable giving.

I see welfare programs as more charitable than obligatory. In Bible times the organized religions were the only source of public welfare, yes? The Roman government did not have welfare programs.
