So, if this storm comes to fruition will it be God punishing the GOP for choosing a Mormon and a Catholic?

Not the GOP but Biden for trying to crash the convention.

Is suspect that we are punished enough by the natual consquences of our decisions as it is.

God doesn't need to pile on.

It's more likely He will punish them for having a lousy NFL team.

Doesn't mean that He won't or will.

God's judgment will begin with the wickedness of His people. And nothing is as wicked as His people portraying for the whole world that they want to choose an incredibly unGodly man as their leader because they NEED to win an election.

If the GOP is lucky, God will give them the chance to select another candidate. But I fear His forbearance with "His people" in the GOP has about run dry. SO maybe He needs to remind them with some Noah " great flood sized water" to remind them that a day of judgment is quickly approaching.

I don't think the American vexations matter enough to God to have Him do something about this.

Besides, I am not inclined to believe God uses natural disasters as forces of judgment in the present era.

I believe that you would be greatly mistaken to say that the murderous sacrifice of 50 million babies don't matter enough to God to have Him do something.

In the words of Ruth Graham, ""If God doesn't soon bring judgment upon America, He'll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!"

Sorry, but where does Ruth Graham get off telling God what He has to do?

Nah, He's showing His blessing by sweeping the streets of all the liberal/occupy/coexist-type/union protesters.;)

Her last name is Graham, so doesn't that pull some weight?

I've heard that quote attributed to lots of people, not sure any of them really said it. But if God is looking for reasons to judge us, having a mormon and a catholic on the ticket would be down the list some, i would think.

Living in FL all these years means not thinking about where it is going to hit until the day before. They change courses alot. But if it does hit us, I'll enjoy the rain, because it won't be a very big one (Category 1, at most).

Okay, I am surprised at some of the responses. I actually meant to put a smiley in the OP but could not find that :sarcasm: smiley.

It is a crazy notion - but I wanted to head it off at the pass.

Now, if a hurricane were to hit Charlotte THEN we might have a point :)

Shouldn't this thread be in the "humor" section?

Well, since it's a hurricane, perhaps God is trying to give the GOP plenty of time to rethink elevating a false-god worshiper to the top of the party?

Hurricanes are larger than tornadoes so affirming false god worship must be worse than affirming same-sex sexual behavior.

    Why should God punish republicans?

They do a swell job of punishing themselves. They keep voting for the lesser of two evils and acting surprised when they get what they asked for.

Personally I have a hard time believing God would punish anyone with a learning disorder.
