The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event.

It's freedom of religion- but telling nonetheless.

The convention closes on Thursday and these prayers are Friday - is that correct?

Good catch- if that's true how can the DNC be 'hosting' it?

The Jumah event takes place the Friday( August 31st) before the DNC begins but the DNC IS hosting it.

    Evidence? Proof?

Why do the articles speak about 'The Friday of its convention' when there is no Friday in the convention?

THIS SITE claims that BIMA is hosting the event. It also says it is 'during the DNC' when the DNC does not start for several days.

That is the Charlotte 2012 website, not the DNC website. Anybody can post an event there. From the entry here is the blurb about the prayers

There is a college tailgate party listed for Saturday. Would that also be a part of the DNC?

    HERE is the DNC website

So what we have is a bunch of Muslims gathering for prayers the weekend before the Democratic Convention in the same city. The have no support from or recognition by the DNC but they use DNC in the name of their gathering. This is proof that President Obama has sold out to Islam. Does that about sum it up?

The hostility of Democrats to any form of theism would have been enough to warn anyone if not for the fact of their hating Christ most of all.

The site you're giving doesn't seem to say anything about it because it's outside the official program because it's a PRE- event.

It starts this Friday, August 31st, not the Friday after the convention.

Okay on the date, but that doesn't invalidate my point. There is NO indication AT ALL that it has anything to do with convention except the name they chose for it. It has NOTHING to do with the DNC.

Here are some other 'pre-events.' Are they all sponsored by the DNC?

    http://charlottein2012.com/events/discovery_place

    http://charlottein2012.com/events/www.presidentialexperiene.com

    http://charlottein2012.com/events/mint_museum_uptown_8_31

    http://charlottein2012.com/events/new_south_and_the_new_southerner

These are simply called -'pre-events' because they happen before the convention.

The original posts claim this is happening the 'Friday of the convention.' There is no 'Friday of the convention.'

The claim was made that this was the DNC site - it is not. It is Charlotte's event site for August and September and anyone can post events there.

Yep. Tried another web browser. Is there something on there that's telling you that the date is September 7th as opposed to August 31st?

Nope - I admit I was wrong about which Friday - but that does not invalidate my point about it not being part of the convention, hosted by it, or having anything to do with the DNC.

So considering the climate for Islam in this country and all the things that have been said about the President being a Muslim, you think he's gonna allow the DNC's name to be attached to this event without his approval?

What power does he have to stop it?

There is not one shred of evidence that there is a connection.

It is kind of like a 'Day of Christian Prayer at the Capitol Building' does not make it a congressional prayer.
