A militant who fought alongside Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan and is now the leader of a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda in South Yemen has struck a deal with the United States and Saudi Arabia to send 5,000 Al-Qaeda fighters into Syria according to reports out of the Middle East.

Tariq al-Fadhli, jihadist leader of the Southern Yemen insurgency and a man personally trained by Bin Laden, has successfully negotiated with U.S. and Saudi officials to send 5,000 jihadist fighters via Turkey to aid Syrian rebels in the attempted overthrow of President Bashar Al-Assad, reports AlAlam. The report was also picked up by AdenAlghad.net.

In a newspaper interview, al-Fadhli revealed that he had agreed to transfer 5,000 militants from the southern Yemen cities of Zanzibar and Jaar “to Syria in order to fight in war being waged by armed groups, including the Al Qaeda-linked groups against the Syrian regime.”

The militants, who refer to themselves as “supporters of Shariah,” will join other bands of Al-Qaeda fighters who have swarmed into Syria from Libya, Iraq and Turkey with the aid of NATO powers and Gulf states. In a July 30 report, the London Guardian admitted that Al-Qaeda fighters were commanding Syrian rebels and teaching them how to build bombs.

The Council on Foreign Relations, America’s most influential foreign policy think tank and a close ally of the U.S. State Department, recently praised the presence of Al-Qaeda fighters in Syria, while the RAND Corporation reportedthat the terrorist group had been responsible for suicide attacks and car bombings that have caused more than 200 deaths and 1,000 injuries.

President Barack Obama recently signed a secret order confirming that he would use taxpayer money to support Syrian rebels with “non-lethal aid”. However, the New York Times admits that the CIA is helping steer heavy weaponry to the rebels on the Turkish border paid for by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Linked sources are in Arabic, so no way of confirming or denying the claims.

Nothing in the London Guardian article mentions 5,000 Al-Queda members going to Syria with the sponsorship of the U.S.
Correction: One analyst for the CFR, Ed Husain, has (allegedly) written an article lauding the Al-Queda's fighting prowess. The CFR is not "an ally of the United States", it is a think tank.

And there is no mention of Al-Queda.

The NYTimes merely changed a story from saying,
"American intelligence agents have helped funnel arms to rebels" to "American intelligence agents have helped to identify rebel groups that receive arms." There is no mention of Al-Queda.

It does not surprise me, if true. At one time, back in the early to mid 80s, when Iraq and Iran were at war, we played footsie with Saddam Hussein. There are many other examples in our history.

You realize that if this were true--U.S. agrees to send Al-Qaeda fighters to Syria--it would be an impeachable offense for Obama. In any event, I don't see why Al-Qaeda would need the U.S. permission to go to Syria, nor would they seek it.

If true? Guess you guys haven't been reading my threads for the past few months then.

I started threads that covered the Al Qaeda links right after Obama and NATO started flying air cover for them in Libya and continued to document the cozy relationship between Al Qaeda and NATO in Syria.

Thought I had done a good job of informing you about all this but I guess you were to busy picking the next best globalist to vote for.

If you'd like to become more informed on all of this there is an easy way to do it. Just go to Land Destroyer and read all about it in Tony's archives. He covers it all from the "Arab Spring" to the "destabilization" of Syria.

No you won't find Tony on the six o'clock news but then you won't find much truth there either. If the truth is what you're after.

You haven't documented anything. You post provocative thread titles but when the actual linked articles are read, the content isn't there. You remind me of CrabTownBoy in that regard.

I'm sorry InTheLight I keep forgetting that I'm lightyears ahead of you in the info that matters dept. I have context from reading thousands of articles and documents that you don't. I do my best to fill in the blanks but you have so many.

But being the nice guy that I am I'll try (most likely in vain again) to fill in a few more of your blanks . . . a bit of context for you.
