I don't about all that but he sure ain't an example of a manly man.

He fits the definition of "metrosexual" to a tee. Makes my stomach turn just talking about him.

It's because liberalism with its twisted definitions of tolerance and love is drowning the Church.

True enough but it could never have happened without the pastor's consent. Evidently they haven't been man enough to stand up to it.

That and the churches have been infiltrated by liberal goats who push the pastors at their bidding. I mean if they want to stay employed, they can't cross the "money people".

    It's a shame.

It's time we stop talking about biblical "manhood" and "womanhood." We should be more interested in biblical "personhood," not coming up with imaginary lists of things that men must be in order to earn the zipper in their pants.

We all, men and women, are called to follow after God wholeheartedly. Stop suggesting we put on some act and start learning how to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."

Jesus wore a garment you would call a dress. And he had long hair. Was he a sissy?

Think about your words before you let them out. Are you making a salient point, or are you tired of men who don't look like you think they should look and trying to make a "biblical argument" out of it?

You should be careful not to get your theology from mid-evil paintings.

You're a little testy here. I think the salient point is that a lot of those guys are all about looks and not substance.

And he's saying MEN because that's where the problem starts...with the MEN in the home.

I'm really okay. Just trying to argue a point.

Why does it start with men? Aren't women equally valuable? Men and women are both called to lead their homes and serve God wholeheartedly.

I know jaigner. Nice name by the way.

It starts with the men because that's the order that God ordained. He placed the men at the head of the households. That's why in removing the men from families, you end up with all sorts of societal problems. The women have never been called of God to lead the home. They simply have to by default because a lot of the men are absent.

All one has to do is look at the Black family and the percentage of kids born out of wedlock, and how that demographic has suffered because of the absence of fathers.

The same thing is taking place in every demographic.

So it's not that the women are less important. It's that God has designed for the men and women to work in a certain order to achieve His best.

I respectfully disagree. The whole thrust of Scripture points toward mutual submission in marriage and family. "Male headship" is a doctrine contrived by superimposing our context onto that of Scripture.

What is important is that the families be led by two loving and present parents who model self-sacrifice and mutual submission.

This "manning-up" stuff isn't found in the Bible, I'm afraid. Nor is it a sound idea. Men, and women alike, should be following hard after God and not concerning themselves with contorting into some cultural gender constructs.

    Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

    Colossians 3:11
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

This was written by the "real" Paul. It was the Neo-Paul writing after Paul's death who put woman "in their place."

jaigner, God has prescribed an order and it can be seen from the start of His word to the end.

There is mutual submission to CHRIST. But the HUSBAND is the head. And if he is submitting to Christ, his Christ submitting wife shouldn't have any problem submitting to him.

That order can be seen in the Garden of Eden. God didn't respond until after the HEAD of the household had disobeyed.

That same order can be seen with Christ being called the Bridegroom and the Church being called His Bride. He's the head. his bride submits to Him.

The same order can be seen with Abraham and his family.
The same order can be seen with all of the patriarchs.

Don't take this the wrong way. But there is always a level of pride involved when women don't want to submit to the husband as the head of the household.

Nope. That's a nice worldly answer that yields worldly results. What is important is that God be obeyed and that the wife submit to her Christ submitting husband.

That's a nice feminist bend, but it ain't Biblical. God has a reason for establishing the order as it is. It is prideful women who have helped destroy families because they don't think they should have to submit to their Christ submitting husbands.

It is in that submission that God is honored and the Biblically correct example for kids is set.
