Do you believe true born again Christians can stand in the Democratic party? I'm not talking about professors....I mean the real deal....Born Again!

I don't know. I would be very hard pressed to be a part of that party that doesn't feel that preborn life is important. Since God has created it, and they feel it's fine to take it away until it's actually fully born, I just don't see it.

I basically agree with Ann, but have a different way of looking at the situation. Both parties are run by politicians who are some of the most greedy, selfish, without a conscience people on earth. Neither party should ever be compared with or near a Holy God.

Within the framework of the cesspool politicians wallow in, on the issue of abortion, Republicans seem to be more correct than Democrats. Republicans have a nominee that was pro abortion once, but now claims to be pro life. Time will tell. There is no chance that Obama is pro life. The party planks are different. In real terms, abortions continue at about the same rate during the rule of both parties. All one can do is to choose the less of the two evils.

Just heard they removed the word God from the platform. Given that many democrat politicians are leftists that is not surprising!

Fingers can be pointed toward both parties. Neither is Christian in many ways.

Do you use the word stand to mean someone who runs for office on the ticket or merely someone who's part of the Party?

Because of what the Party's platform has become over the years, I can see little compatability between it and Biblical Christianity. My own opinion is that most of His who are Democrats are dupes.

Yeah, and those leftist, ungodly pagans who wrote the Constitution left God out as well.

Can a person be a Christian and support the framers of the Constitution since they left God out?

I don't think we can tie our faith to our vote. We have no right to decide who and who is not a true believer. The GOP talk about being pro-life, and I grateful for the legislation which has banned partial birth abortions, but the number of abortions does not seem to be too affected by which party is in power.

Considering their record on abortion alone can a true Christian stand for either party?

Paraphrasing the Lord in Genesis, "can you find one righteous person in Congress, Executive Branch, or party operatives from either side?"

Of that I absolutely agree. NONE of them are Christian in my opinion. So then the question is which still has a speck of my values in their platform.

I just heard a liberal professing Christian (40s) tell me this morning that abortion is humane because it is population control - more humane and more palpable to kill a person before they are born than to let them live in poverty and hunger and welfare for the rest of their lives. Wow. So this is how it is justified, even in the minds of some "Christians."

2 Corinthians 6:14 Says you should be conserned in some matters! Now back to the OP......can a true Born Again Christian support the party who openly supports the "Gay" agenda and abortion?

On the other hand, God judged the homicide of the preborn child as a crime against property.
