    1. “And I say to my fellow Americans — my fellow Americans, four years ago, a battered nation turned away from the failed policies of the past, and turned to a leader who they would know what lift our nation out of the crisis.”

The housing mortgage market collapsed in September 2008, a few months before Obama took office, and one would like to hear exactly how it happened, outside of some nebulous references to “Wall Street greed” or “deregulation.” The main causes of the housing market crash (which was national in scale), were the insurance of mortgages by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, leading to a rush into Mortgage Backed Securities, and a monetary bubble caused by The Fed’s easy credit policies. It’s really no more difficult to understand than that.

As for the failed policies of the past, is he referring to free market capitalism and individual freedom, which undeniably made America the strongest economic power in the world? Because the European welfare state model is a failure; not to mention even more statist models.

I do not have cable, so I listened to the conventions on PBS. They were very different.

During the RNC convention, they did not show many speeches. They would constantly go to a panel of four newsmen, who would often try to find fault with what the last speaker said.

When I watched the DNC, it was very different, they would show many speeches with very little commentary between, and almost never did they point out any inaccuracies in the Dems speeches.

It occurred to me that if anyone uninformed listened to these shows, they would surely vote for the Democrats. I mean, it sounded like they had already found the cure for cancer and were just waiting to be reelected so they could give it to us.

This is the problem, most Americans do not really know or understand the issues. They simply vote for what they hear in these conventions or in a political ad. The problem is, the media was very unfair, and absolutely biased toward the Dems.

I have never voted for a Democrat in my life, not once, but after watching the DNC convention on PBS I was almost convinced to do so. They made everything Obama and the Democrats did sound wonderful, they made the Republicans sound like Satan incarnate.

    It was really that bad.
