You may be one of the folk that will vote for Romney, but still be considered in the irresponsible folk going by his criteria.

So I'll take it your endless stream of anti-Romney posts isn't getting enough visibility in the politics forum so you figured it'd worth it to expand your horizons? ;)

Well, if nothing else, the information from the article quoted in the OP and the chart found in the linked article, shows that following Romney's criteria a whole lot of folk who do not consider themselves leeches ... as they have jobs ... are in the leech class according to Romney. Why, even some on this BB who are going to vote for him are in the 47% ... they and he just do not realize that he included them. :tear: or should it be

It doesn't matter that they pay Medicare or SSI. They get many times back in a year than they pay . You don't cut into a deficit by giving folks who essentially pay nothing money back.

And state and local taxes are not paying down the federal budget deficit. They pay no taxes toward the debt, yet they get all this money back. this is a crazy process.

At some point soon (and more likely if Democrats have their way), that 47% will be north of 50%, and the end will be near, because eventually you run out of other people's money. A society can't survive long where the minority are carrying the majority. I'm not trying to deride, malign or make fun of the 47-soon-to-be-50+%, but I'm just stating the inevitability of it all. In fact, I know several people in that situation, and I know conservative people like myself and others help them on a regular basis, much more than people who think the gov't should do the helping. It's alright - I'm confident the local, non-gov't way is the Biblical model and will be rewarded by our Lord vs. the gov't way. In fact, the gov't way will be judged as organized theft in the end.

This is a non issue, and it is in the wrong section. This is a theological section, and Obama and Romney are about as far from that as one can get.

CTB, does that make you irresponsible for supporting someone who said this just 4 years ago?

"Adding 4 trillion dollars to the national debt is 'irresponsible' and 'unpatriotic'"

Winning the Presidency is a game of smoke and mirrors from conventions to Election Day. What Romney said does not bother me. One, it was suppose to be off record. Two, there is still Congress to enact his ideas. His ideas are no worse than the last four years, and probably better.

None of that matters. With the situation of the electoral college this year, the incident did Romney no good, fair or not. Lots of time left to election day, but Romney, being a slight underdog, cannot afford a whole string of things like this, and this nation certainly does not need four more years of Obama.

    The main points being:

    1. Wrong forum

    2. If we didn't vote for people who said stupid things, we would never vote at all! Romney/Obama is defitely a "lesser-of-two-evils" question...But just because I don't like either one doesn't mean I've decided to not vote.

he was just stating that 47 % did not pay any fed income tax, and those would not see tax relief as vital, so would tend to stay for president...

were you so upset when president stated that we in the Mid West here are leaning on "bad things" such as Guns and religion?
