Meanwhile, Obama continues to give foreign aid to other countries while our vets suffer. Something is very wrong with this picture.

I am sorry to hear it is continuing. Sadly this is not a new complaint as there was much dissatisfaction during the Bush years. I have a friend who is a retired doctor who complained bitterly about the treatment of veterans in the first decade of this century. He worked at Walter Reed. The veterans, especially those who have been harmed physically, emotionally and psychologically should be helped quickly and efficiently.

I am not sure what president in my lifetime can hold his head proudly on this issue.

Bureaucratic institutions are extremely difficult to change.

Crabby, let me give you the facts, I have been waiting over three months for my latest VA compensation request. Just received a letter from the VA stating they have my request and it is being processed.
When I did receiver my first approval for a disability it only took about 6 months or so- and that was the second time I had submitted it (first time it was disapproved ) after waiting about 6 months

Salty, I have dealt almost excursively with the VA hospital nearest me. They seem to have their act together and I am satisfied with their services.

I have filled out a form to join the research project, Million Veteran Program. This is dealing more directly with the non-medical folk and they seem much slower in responding.

    Good luck Salty.
