Jim Lehrer and tonights debate

There were a couple of instances where Lehrer tried to cut Romney off!

 

I definitely think obama had more air time.....but Romney still won!!

lol, you KNOW Romney won when Chris (thrill up the leg) Matthews is upset with obama's performance.

 

He he he !!

Even Bill Maher and James Carville said Romney won !!:laugh: Tickles the daylights outta me when guys like THAT have to eat crow.

I think PBS has wonderful entertainment, such as Celtic Women, and some of the old rock bands, but their news and informational programs are very liberally biased, and certainly have no place being subsidized by American tax dollars.

I saw snips of the debate, and agree, Romney did an excellent job. Obama looked like his heart was not in it, or he did not want to be there.

 

I believe he did and excellent job

 

I didn't think he moderated anything. He let Obama (mostly, but also Romney) talk over his attempts to intervene and move the debate onto new topics. He seemed flustered and not in control.

On the other hand he did allow the two candidates to go at each other kind of freewheeling.

I'd give him a B-.

 

Agree that ole Jim had very little control & he allowed Mitt to run past him a number of times.... (C-)

 

I'm glad both candidates ran over Lehrer, usually the moderator controls the debate in a way that is unfair to one of the speakers. Lehrer tried to cut Romney off several times, but Romney got his answers in. And that is why he easily won the debate. :thumbsup:

 

Lehrer kinda prodded Obama a couple of times to sort of help him along, but he was beyond help.

Obama spoke 4 minutes more than Romney.

 

He said from the start that he would not be so tight fisted with regards to responses. The intent was that the candidates had the ability to speak to each other. In fact he asked them to several times.

He was not biased and he worked to be equally fair to both. In my book he gets and A.

 

Had a laugh reading that after the debate both sides, liberals and conservatives, came away generally unhappy with how Jim Lehrer handled the event. I guess that is one way to define a successful debate moderation.
