Pro-life politicians need to take a page from Newt Gingrich’s playbook when answering questions about Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock. In an appearance on ABC News’s “This Week,” George Stephanopoulos asked Gingrich if Romney agreed with Mourdock’s recent remarks about rape. The exchange begins at 4:37 in the video above. Gingrich responded,

My response is, if you listen to what Mourdock actually said, he said what virtually every Catholic and every fundamentalist in the country believes, life begins at conception. Now, this seems to be fixated by the Democrats, but the radical on abortion is Obama, who as a state senator voted three times in favor of allowing doctors to kill babies in the eighth and ninth month who were born, having survived late-term abortion. And the Democratic Party platform, which says you should pay with your tax money for late-term abortion…

How can any born-again Christian vote for a man who voted to endorse murder?

    Oldtimer,
The answer lays folded within the definition of Christian. i am oft condemned into Hell for what I am about to say but the truth has always deserved a hearing. In the much misused scripture, Matt. 7:1, there actualy much truth. The issue comes with the context of the verse because the minor context is found within the first six verses of Matt. 7.

The verse, in contxt, instructs us to judge righteously, the same manor we wish to be judged. And then I'll jump a bit because there are thousands olf context formulas that apply here and we'll take a look at the Sermon on the Mount, Matt. 5-7. Jesus was teaching beievers. Yes, there were thousands of nonbelievers hearing Him that day but remember the twelve asked Him why He taught in parables and He answered that His woeds were for those that had ears to hear the message... spiritual ears and the same applied throughout the three or better years He taught.

Jesus taught us that we would, we being Desciples, know the Brethern by their fruits and that good fruit does not grow on bad trees. The Christian Church, today, is filled with what I term, Pew Whales. Pew Whales go to the church for a variety of reasons and none of them have to do with following and submitting their lives to Jesus, God the Son. These folks have, usually, never read the Bible! They hear sermons, read verses and sometimes, even a chapter or two and in some cases a book or two, usually John and another or two.

These folks are part of the eighty-tree percent of the US that call themselves, Christian, and they do so in name only. If we express the truth to them we are given Matt. 7:1 and informed that we are being judgmental and leagalistic. So it is that, today, there is a church that is filled with the followers of the Christ and lost men and women. All of them will tel you they are Christians and the Lost will dare you to challenge them.

And so it is that foks calling themselves by the name of Christ but outside the church doors, they live and vote like Hell. And if you ever breach the barrier and discuss this matter... think, read to study and meditate with prayer before you do so.
